Women’s Basketball Defeats St. Thomas 77-63, Remains Atop MIAC Standings

The Gustavus women's basketball team remained in a three-way tie for first place with an important 77-63 win over St. Thomas on Wednesday night at Concordia University's Gangelhoff Center. The Gusties, who had five players reach double figures in the scoring column, were led by Molly Mathiowetz with 22 points.

Men’s Swimming & Diving Takes Second at CSB/SJU Invitational

The Gustavus men's swimming and diving team finished in second place with 661 points at the CSB/SJU Invitational on Saturday afternoon in Collegeville, Minn. The Gusties tallied four event wins on the day, two of which were by Paul Kirihara who won the 100 (55.15) and 200 backstroke (2:00.67). Saint Cloud State University won the meet with 829 points.

Women’s Swimming & Diving Finishes Second At CSB/SJU Invitational

The Gustavus women's swimming and diving team took second place (692 pts) at the CSB/SJU Invitational on Saturday in Collegeville, Minn. Carrie Gundersen was the top Gustavus swimmer with wins in both the 200 (1:59.66) and 500 free (5:16.98) and a third place finish in the 200 butterfly (2:18.75). St. Cloud State University won the meet with 835 points.

Men’s And Women’s Swimming And Diving Take Part In Last Meet At St. Thomas’s O’Shaughnessy Pool

Members of the the Gustavus men's and women's swimming and diving teams took part in the last meet held in St. Thomas's O'Shaughnessy Natatorium on Friday night in St. Paul, Minn. Both St. Thomas squads were victorious in the meet, as the Tommie women swimmers won 43-32, with the men winning by the score of 49-36.

Men’s Swimming Takes First At Falcon Invitational

The Gustavus men's swimming team took first place at the Falcon Invitational held in the University of Minnesota's Aquatics Center on Friday and Saturday. Skylar Davis was the top Gustavus swimmer, winning the 200 and 500 freestyle, and the 400 IM. The Gusties registered 995 points in the two-day swim meet.

Ten teams competed in the two day event, as Gustavus totaled 665.5 points with UW-Eau Claire taking first with 937 points.

The Gustavus men's hockey team used four second period goals to break open a tight game and claim a convincing 7-1 win over St. Thomas at Don Roberts Ice Rink on Saturday night. Matt Schugel scored two goals and Patrick Dynan added one goal and three assists to lead the Gusties.

Men’s Tennis Wins MIAC Playoff Championship, Earns Automatic NCAA Tournament Berth

The tenth-ranked Gustavus men's tennis team earned an automatic bid to the NCAA Tournament after claiming the MIAC Playoff Championship on Saturday at the Brown Outdoor Tennis Courts in St. Peter. The Gusties, who improved to 25-8, defeated St. Olaf 8-1 after defeating St. Thomas 9-0 in the semifinal round. The NCAA Tournament field will be announced on Monday afternoon.

Baseball Wraps Up Season With 2-5 And 2-11 Losses At St. Thomas

The Gustavus baseball team saw its season come to an end after dropping a pair of games to St. Thomas by the scores of 5-2 and 11-2 in St. Paul on Saturday afternoon. The Gusties hit the Tommie pitching, but were unable to string together consecutive hits to score runs. However, St. Thomas had a big inning in each game of the doubleheader to earn the wins. Gustavus finished the season at 17-21 overall and 9-11 in the MIAC, while the Tommies moved to 27-9 overall and 15-5 in the conference standings.

Men’s Tennis Defeats Macalester And St. Thomas To Claim 21st Consecutive MIAC Crown

The Gustavus men's tennis team defeated Macalester 9-0 and St. Thomas 6-3 to earn its 21st consecutive MIAC Championship on Saturday. The Gusties finished conference play undefeated at 9-0 and improved to 23-8 overall. Gustavus will host the MIAC Championships at the Brown Outdoor Tennis Courts beginning with the #3-6 seeds competing on Friday, May 1. The top-seeded Gustavus will face the lowest remaining seed on Saturday, May 2 at 9 a.m.
