The Gustavus softball team kicked off its 2011 season with a trip to Oahu, Hawaii, where they played six games on their seven day trip to the Hawaiian Islands. The Gusties posted a 2-4 record on the trip while playing against NCAA Division II competition.

Softball Falls To St. Thomas 4-0 In MIAC Playoff Championship

The Gustavus softball team came up short in its bid to win the MIAC Playoff title falling to regular season champion St. Thomas 4-0 in the playoff title game. St. Thomas (37-6) earns the automatic bid to the NCAA Tournament, while the Gusties (30-13) will now have to wait until Monday morning to find out if they will receive an at-large bid to the NCAA Tournament.

Softball Team Stays Alive At MIAC Tournament, Faces St. Thomas On Sunday

The Gustavus softball team fell to Bethel 4-2 in its opening game of the MIAC Tournament on Saturday, but then bounced back by defeating St. Olaf 5-2 and Bethel 8-0 in the consolation bracket and will face St. Thomas in an elimination game on Sunday morning. The Gusties will need to defeat the Tommies twice on Sunday to win the MIAC Playoff title.

MIAC Softball Tournament Postponed, Rescheduled For Saturday

Due to poor weather conditions on Friday, May 7, the MIAC Softball Tournament, which is being hosted by Gustavus at Caswell Park in North Mankato, Minn. will be postponed one day. The tournament will now begin on Saturday and conclude on Sunday.

Softball Team Wraps Up Regular Season With Sweep of St. Scholastica

The Gustavus softball team wrapped up a successful regular season with a sweep of St. Scholastica at the Jane Sage Cowles Stadium on the University of Minnesota campus. The Gusties won game behind the two-hit pitching of Callie Nelsen and then claimed game two 11-2 thanks to a six-run fourth inning.

Softball Splits Doubleheader With Central College

The Gustavus softball team split a non-conference doubleheader with Midwest Region foe Central College on Sunday afternoon in St. Peter. The Gusties lost game one 1-0 and then bounced back to win game two 8-1.
