Softball Sweeps St. Ben’s, Clinches #2 Seed In MIAC Playoffs

The Gustavus softball team wrapped up regular season conference play with a doubleheader sweep of St. Ben's in St. Joseph on Saturday afternoon. The Gusties won game one 10-0 and then claimed game two 5-0. Dani Cattrysse sparked the Gustavus offense as she was 4-for-4 at the plate with six RBI in the two games.

Gustavus honored seniors Sheila Arnold, Callie Nelsen, Jenna Johnson, Betsie Collins, and Andrea Brown on Senior Day. 

Softball Sweeps Macalester, Clinches Post-Season Playoff Berth

The Gustavus softball team outscored MIAC foe Macalester 18-0 on its way to a doubleheader sweep in St. Peter by the scores of 11-0 and 7-0 on Wednesday afternoon. With the two wins, the Gusties clinch a spot in the MIAC Playoffs for the third consecutive season.

Softball Team Sees Title Hopes Disappear With Two Heartbreaking Losses To St. Thomas

The Gustavus softball team battled valiantly to defend its MIAC regular season title, but St. Thomas wrestled the title away from the Gusties with a 1-0 win in game one and a 5-3 win in 11 innnings in game two. The Tommies improved to 30-6 overall and 17-1 in the MIAC, while the Gusties dropped to 21-10 overall and 14-4 in the MIAC.

Offense Struggles As Softball Falls To Waldorf 5-2

The Gustavus softball team dropped a 5-2 decision to non-conference foe Waldorf College on Monday afternoon in St. Peter. The Gusties led 2-1 through five innings, but the Warriors scored once in the sixth, and three times in the seventh to hand Gustavus its eighth loss of the season.

Softball Doubleheader With St. Thomas Postponed Again, Re-Scheduled For Tuesday

The Gustavus softball team’s doubleheader with St. Thomas postponed on Saturday, April 24 at 1:00 pm at Gustavus and re-scheduled for Sunday, April 25 has been postponed again and re-scheduled for Tuesday, April 27 at 4 pm at Gustavus.

Softball Sweeps Saint Mary’s, Remains In Hunt For League Title

The Gustavus softball team combined clutch hitting with solid pitching to claim an important MIAC series sweep over Saint Mary's by the scores of 3-2 and 4-3 in Winona on Thursday afternoon. Lisa Klass hit a three-run home run to spark the Gusties in game one, while Andrea Brown stroked a clutch two-out single to score Kirsten Prunty with the game-winning run in the fifth inning of game two.

Dani Cattrysse drove in the winning run in the top of the ninth inning in game one. 

Softball Splits Doubleheader With Augsburg, Drops To Second Place in League Standings

The Gustavus softball team played two nailbiters with Augsburg on Tuesday afternoon and the Gusties managed to win game one 3-2 in nine innings, but the Auggies scored twice in the bottom of the seventh to win game two 4-3. Gustavus is now 19-7 overall and 12-2 in league play.

Senior pitcher Callie Nelsen picked up her seventh win of the season in game one. 

Softball Sweeps Carleton, Pushes Win Streak To Nine

The Gustavus softball team extended its conference win streak to nine games by sweeping Carleton by the scores of 6-2 and 4-0 on a beautiful Saturday afternoon in St. Peter. Kate Rentschler's towering three-run home run in the sixth inning broke open a tight game in the opener and then Erin Truebenbach scattered four hits in six innings as the Gusties shut the Knights out in game two. Gustavus is now 18-6 overall and 11-1 in league play.

Pitching Staff Shines As Softball Team Sweeps Concordia 6-0, 12-0

The Gustavus softball team used strong pitching performances from Betsie Collins, Erin Truebenbach, and Callie Nelsen to shut down Concordia 6-0 and 12-0 at the Gustie Softball Field on Wednesday afternoon. Gustavus is now 16-6 overall and 9-1 in the MIAC.

Softball Runs Win Streak To Five Games With Sweep Of Hamline

The Gustavus softball continued its winning ways with a doubleheader sweep of Hamline University in St. Paul on Saturday afternoon by the scores of 5-2 an 3-1. Emily Wendorff led the Gusties at the plate going 3-for-5 with two doubles. Betsie Collins was the winning pitcher in game one, while Callie Nelsen picked up the win in game two.
