Gustavus Men’s Soccer Team Arrives for 2008 Training Camp

The Gustavus Adolphus College men's soccer team arrived on campus over the weekend to begin its preseason camp for the 2008 campaign. The schedule for the student-athletes consists of a heavy dose of training both on and off the field as they prepare for their season opening road trip to Spokane, Wash. from August 29-31.

Gustavus Volleyball Starts 2008 Campaign

The Gustavus Adolphus College volleyball team arrived on campus Saturday, August 16 to begin its preseason camp for the 2008 campaign. The schedule for the student-athletes consists of a heavy dose of practice and team bonding exercises. For the first-year players these days are important as they adjust to their teammates, the campus, and college competition.

Gustavus Volleyball Has Bright Outlook for 2007 Season

After a second-place conference finish and an 18-9 record last fall, the Gustavus Adolphus College volleyball team will look to contend for the MIAC title again in 2007. Head Coach Kari Eckheart will be looking for MIAC Co-Defensive Player of the Year Emily Klein and all-conference performers Andrea Kron and Jennifer Thelemann, to join eight other returning letterwinners. Klein (Red Wing, MN), a junior libero, will be asked to continue anchoring a defense that ranked second in the MIAC last season.

Gustavus Rated Sixth In Preseason Poll

The Gustavus Adolphus College men's soccer team begins the season ranked sixth in the National Soccer Coaches Association of America/adidas Division III national preseason poll. Defending national champion Messiah begins the season as the top ranked squad. Two of the Gusties' 2005 opponents also find themselves on the list—UC-Santa Cruz (Saturday, October 15) is second, while Wartburg (Sunday, September 4) is tied for eighth.
