St. Peter, Minn. – The Gustavus Adolphus women’s soccer team returned to St. Peter on Friday, August 16th for a fresh start to the 2013 season.  A total of 21 players (13 returners, eight first-years) arrived Friday afternoon and after four days of training, second year head coach Laura Burnett-Kurie is optimistic about how her team looks.

“We came in at a very high level,” mentioned Burnett-Kurie.  “All of the returners understand our expectations and the style of play that we are looking for.  We were also able to meet with the players that came in as recruits, so they understood our style of play right away and have been able to fit right in.  It’s been really positive so far.”

The Gusties will begin their 2013 campaign on Friday, August 30th when they play host to UW-Eau Claire.  That match is set for a 1:00 p.m. kickoff at the Gustie Soccer Field.
