The Gustavus women’s indoor track and field team went into the final day of competition at the 2010 MIAC Indoor Track and Field Championships with a narrow one point lead over defending MIAC Champion St. Thomas. The Gusties could not hold the advantage on Saturday, as St. Thomas tallied 78 points, bringing it’s total to 158, and edging Gustavus by 28 points as the Gusties finished with a total of 130 points to place second.

After the first day of competition at the 2010 MIAC Indoor Track and Field Championships taking place in the Recreation Center in Northfield, Minn., the Gustavus men’s indoor track and field team is currently in seventh place with 36 points. A fast start in the pentathlon, followed by a solid showing in the field events has put the Gusties one point ahead of second place, St. Thomas (88 points).

The Gustavus women's indoor track and field team is off to a fast start, as Gusties filled three of the top five spots in the final pentathlon standings.
