The Gustavus women’s indoor track and field team went into the final day of competition at the 2010 MIAC Indoor Track and Field Championships with a narrow one point lead over defending MIAC Champion St. Thomas. The Gusties could not hold the advantage on Saturday, as St. Thomas tallied 78 points, bringing it’s total to 158, and edging Gustavus by 28 points as the Gusties finished with a total of 130 points to place second.

Men’s Indoor Track & Field Currently In Seventh Place At 2010 MIAC Indoor Track & Field Championships

After the first day of competition at the 2010 MIAC Indoor Track and Field Championships taking place in the Recreation Center in Northfield, Minn., the Gustavus men’s indoor track and field team is currently in seventh place with 36 points. Max Hanson turned in the top individual performance of the day by winning the 800-meter run with an NCAA automatic qualifying time of 1:52.54. Senior Kaelene Lundstrum defended her 2009 title in the pentathlon to become the two-time MIAC Champion in the event.
