Track & Field Set for MIAC Outdoor Championships This Weekend

The Gustavus men’s and women’s track & field teams are set to compete at the MIAC Outdoor Championships on Friday and Saturday at the University of St. Thomas. The two-day event begins at 2 p.m. Friday with final field events and preliminary track events. Saturday’s events begin at 2 p.m. as well with both days wrapping up competition at approximately 7:30 p.m.

Men’s Soccer Hosts Augsburg in MIAC Semifinal Wednesday

The Gustavus men’s soccer team is set to host Augsburg in a MIAC semifinal match at 2 p.m. Wednesday at the Gustie Soccer Field. The No. 1 Gusties earned the MIAC regular season title with an 8-1-1 record and are 14-2-1 overall. The No. 5 Auggies (12-3-2) advanced to the semifinals by defeating St. Thomas in penalty kicks today.

Another Upset, Women’s Soccer Takes Down St. Thomas On Penalty Kicks

Double overtime wasn’t enough to decide a winner in Wednesday’s MIAC women’s soccer semifinal playoff match. Tied 1-1 after 110 minutes and forced to penalty kicks, Gustavus keeper Ashley Becker (Jr., Farmington, Minn.) came up big with two stops and the Gusties, seeded No. 6, made all four attempts to upset No. 2 seed St. Thomas and advance to the MIAC championship game for the second time in three seasons.

Women’s Cross Country Takes Fourth At MIAC Championships, Men Eighth

The Gustavus men’s and women’s cross country teams competed at the MIAC Championships Saturday, hosted by St. Olaf, with the women taking fourth place and the men finishing eighth. Carleton won both the men’s and women’s conference titles.

Cross Country Ready For MIAC Championships

The Gustavus women’s and men’s cross country teams are set to compete at the MIAC Championships on Saturday at St. Olaf College in Northfield, Minn. This is the first time since 1992 the MIAC has held its Cross Country Championships at a site other than Como Golf Course in St. Paul, which hosted the conference meet 30 of the last 35 years. The women’s race begins at 11 a.m. with the men to follow at noon.

Women’s Golf Takes Fifth At MIAC Championships

The Gustavus women’s golf team concluded its fall season on a blistering cold Monday, taking fifth place at the MIAC Championships held at Pebble Creek Golf Club. The Gusties finished with a score of 330-316-329-975, which was 51 strokes behind the winner Carleton at 924. Saint Benedict took second at 943 and St. Thomas took third at 952. Ziyi Wang held the lead throughout the tournament to claim medalist honors with a total of 224.  

Women’s Golf Moves Up To Fifth At MIAC Championships

The Gustavus women’s golf team moved up one spot on the MIAC Championships leaderboard Sunday, shooting a second round 316 to move to fifth place. McKenzie Swenson (Sr., Buffalo, Minn.) carded the lowest score of the day with a 73, moving up to eighth place on the individual leaderboard.

Women’s Golf In Sixth After First Round Of MIAC Championships

The Gustavus women’s golf team shot a 330 (+42) in round one of the MIAC Championships on Saturday at Pebble Creek Golf Club, which is good for sixth place. Carleton leads the field with a 305, while St. Catherine and Saint Benedict are tied for second at 320.

Women’s Golf Ready For MIAC Championships This Weekend

The Gustavus women’s golf team is set to compete in the MIAC Championships this weekend, hosted at Pebble Creek Golf Club in Becker, Minn. Saturday through Monday. The 54-hole tournament features all 11 MIAC teams with the winner earning the league’s automatic qualifier into the NCAA Championships, which takes place May 8-11, 2018 at Howey-in-Hills, Fla.

Men’s Golf Takes Fourth At MIAC Championships, Aunan Earns Medalist Honors

The Gustavus men’s golf team concluded its fall season Monday at the MIAC Championships, played at Ridges at Sand Creek, and finished in fourth place with a score of 301-307-295-903 (+39). Alec Aunan (Sr., Rock Island, Ill.) earned co-medalist honors after carding a 72-74-73-219, garnering the program’s 25th MIAC individual championship.
