The Gustavus men’s tennis team will be competing for its 18th consecutive Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference team title this spring. The Gusties have claimed 31 MIAC team titles during current head coach Steve Wilkinson’s 34 years at Gustavus.

Gustavus Adolphus College is hosting the Wilson/ITA Midwest Regional Championship at the Swanson Indoor Tennis Center and the Brown Outdoor Courts this weekend. The Men’s Division III Midwest Region Championships will take place Friday, September 30 through Sunday, October 2.

The Gustavus men’s tennis team recently took part in the Lloyd Stokstad Invitational hosted by Drake University in Des Moines, Iowa. The senior doubles team of Adam Morgan and Brett Morse-Karzen won the A Flight Doubles title by defeating Maor Zirkin and Jon Tishler of Drake 8-4 in the championship match.

The Gustavus men’s doubles of Adam Morgan and Brett Morse-Karzen were knocked out of the NCAA Division III doubles tournament in the quarterfinal round late Sunday evening. Morgan and Morse-Karzen lost to second seeded Matt Brunner and Matt Seeberger of the University of California at Santa Cruz by the score of 7-6 (9-7), 6-2.

The Gustavus doubles team of Adam Morgan and Brett Morse-Karzen advanced to the quarterfinals of the NCAA Division III men’s doubles tournament being played in Santa Cruz, California. Morgan and Morse-Karzen defeated Ari Beilin and Alex Scott of Middlebury 6-4, 2-6, 6-3 in the opening round on Saturday afternoon.

The Gustavus men’s tennis team fell to Emory University 4-1 and finished fourth at the NCAA Team Championship being held in Santa Cruz, California. It was the second close loss for the Gusties in the past two days, as Coach Steve Wilkinson’s squad fell to Middlebury 4-2 yesterday in a semifinal match.

The Gustavus Adolphus College men’s tennis team will compete in the 2005 NCAA Division III Men’s Tennis Championships on May 18-20 at the University of California, Santa Cruz.
