Men’s Golf Finishes 11th at Emory Invitational, Kolquist Finishes 17th Individually

The Gustavus men's golf team registered an 11th place finish out of 17 teams at the Emory Invitational in Atlanta, Georgia. Alex Kolquist was the top Gustie individual finisher as he tied for 17th with a total of 76-78--154.

Men’s Golf Finishes 11th At Weather-Shortened Twin Cities Classic

The Gustavus men's golf team wrapped up its fall season with an 11th place finish at its own 20-team Twin Cities Classic. The tournament was scheduled to begin on Saturday, however cold and snow canceled the first round. On Sunday, an 18-hole round was played at the Links at Northfork in Ramsey, Minn., but the snow forecast for Monday forced the cancellation of the final round and Saint John's who fired a team score of 289 was declared the winner. Gustavus posted a total of 302.

First Round of Twin Cities Invitational Cancelled Due To Snow and Cold Weather

The first round of the 54-hole Twin Cities Classic hosted by the Gustavus men's golf team was postponed due to cold and snow on Saturday. The tournament will attempt to continue on Sunday with 18 holes scheduled to be played at The Links at Northfork in Ramsey, Minn. and the final round will be played at Wayzata Country Club on Monday.

Women’s Golf Wins MIAC Title In Convincing Fashion, While Men Finish Strong To Tie For Second

The Gustavus women's golf team pulled away from the field and won its second consecutive MIAC Championship by a convincing 46 strokes, while the men shot a final round 300 to tie for second with St. Thomas. The women's team was led by Katie Schenfeld, who claimed medalist honors with a 54-hole total of 80-78-78--236, while A.J. Olson and Alex Kolquist tied for third at 223 to lead the men.

Women’s Golf In First Place, Men In Second Place After First Day of MIAC Championships

The Gustavus women's golf team shot a 332 on Saturday and will enter the second day of the MIAC Championships with a nine stroke lead over St. Thomas. The men's golf team fired a first round score of 297 and trails leader Saint John's by four strokes. The second day of the 54-hole men's and women's championships will continue on Sunday at Bunker Hills Golf Course in Coon Rapids.

Women’s Golf Remains In First Place, Men’s Golf Slips To Third After Two Days Of MIAC Championships

The Gustavus women's golf team built a commanding 29-stroke lead heading into the final day of the MIAC Championships, while the men slipped into third place, 17 strokes behind leader Saint John's. Individually, Katie Schenfeld is in first place with a total of 158, while A.J. Olson is in fifth place with a total of 148.

Saul Menendez Named MIAC Men’s Golfer of the Week

The Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference golf coaches have selected Gustavus freshman Saul Menendez (Gijon, Asturias, Spain) as the Co-MIAC Golfer of the Week. Menendez shares the honor with Ben Vangsness of Saint John's.

Men’s Golf Places 10th Out Of 20 At Saint John’s Invitational

The Gustavus men's golf team posted a 36-hole team total of 320-314--634 to place 10th out of 20 teams at the Saint John's Invitational which was played at Greystone Golf Course on Saturday and Blackberry Ridge Golf Course on Sunday. Host Saint John's won the tournament with a total of 300-296--596. Individually, Saul Menendez led Gustavus as he placed 23rd with a total of 81-75--156.

Men’s Golf Finishes Eighth At Augsburg Invitational

The Gustavus men's golf team bounced back from a difficult first day to shoot a team score of 299 on the second day and finished with a 36-hole total of 316-299--615, which was good for eighth place out of 14 teams. The tournament was played at Majestic Oaks Golf Club in Ham Lake, Minn. John Anderson (78-75--153) and A.J. Olson (76-77--153) led the Gusties tying for 17th place.

Men’s Golf Opens 2009 Season At Augsburg Invitational This Weekend

Head Coach Scott Moe welcomes back seven seniors and a talented group of newcomers as the Gusties hope to contend for the Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference title this fall. Moe will look to senior captains Ricky Copeland and A.J. Olson to lead the way as the squad opens its season this weekend at the Augsburg Invitational.
