Student Athlete Advisory Board To Collect Food For St. Peter Food Shelf This Weekend

The Gustavus Student Athlete Advisory Board will be collecting non-perishable food and cash donations at the entrance to all Gustie athletics events this weekend to support the local St. Peter Food Shelf. Gustavus women's hockey will play at home on Friday night, followed by men's and women's basketball on Saturday afternoon and men's hockey on Saturday night.

The Gustavus men's basketball team opened up a double-digit lead midway through the first half and never looked back on its way to a convincing 82-71 win at Concordia on Saturday afternoon. Phil Wirtjes and James Hill were the difference for the Gusties as Hill tallied a game-high 23 points, while Wirtjes contributed 20 points on 8-of-12 shooting from the field.

Men’s Basketball Sponsoring Food Shelf Night On January 31 Against Macalester

The Gustavus men's basketball game on Monday, January 31 against Macalester College at 7:30 pm will serve as a benefit for the St. Peter Food Shelf. The Gustavus Athletics Department will offer free admission to anyone bringing a non-perishable food item to the game. All items donated at the game will be donated to the St. Peter Food Shelf.
