Seth Anderson Named All-Conference In Men’s Basketball

Gustavus junior Seth Anderson was named to the Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (MIAC) Men's Basketball All-Conference Team for the 2010-2011 season. Other Gustavus players receiving recognition included All-Conference Honorable Mention honorees Dan Schmidtknecht and Phil Wirtjes. Matt Doble was named to the All-MIAC Sportsmanship Team.

The Gustavus men's basketball team saw its "Cinderella" run through the MIAC Playoffs come to an end with a hard-fought 83-77 loss at St. Thomas on Sunday afternoon in the MIAC Playoff Championship game. The Gusties finish with a record of 15-13 overall.

Men’s Basketball Set To Face St. Thomas In MIAC Playoff Title

The Gustavus men's basketball team will look to continue its surprising run through the MIAC Playoffs when it battles St. Thomas in the championship game on Sunday afternoon at 2 pm in St. Paul. The winner of the game will receive an automatic bid to the NCAA Tournament, which begins next weekend.

Seth Anderson scored 18 points to lead Gustavus. 

Slipper Fits Again As Men’s Basketball Upsets #1 Carleton 70-64

The Gustavus men's basketball team continued its "Cinderella" run through the MIAC Playoffs with a 70-64 upset of #1 seed Carleton on the Knights home floor in Northfield on Friday evening. Coach Mark Hanson's squad will now play St. Thomas in St. Paul on Sunday at 2:00 pm in the MIAC Playoff Championship game.

Seth Anderson is averaging 24.5 points per game over the last four games for the Gusties. 

Men’s Basketball Faces St. Olaf In MIAC Playoff Game Tonight

The Gustavus men's basketball team will open post-season play with a MIAC Playoff Quarterfinal game tonight at 7:30 pm against St. Olaf in Northfield. The Gusties, who enter with a record of 13-12 overall and 11-9 in MIAC play, are the #5 seed, while the host Oles enter with a mark of 17-8 overall and 12-8 in league play.

Men’s Basketball Coach Mark Hanson Picks Up 400th Career Win

Gustavus Head Men's Basketball Coach Mark Hanson became the 65th coach in NCAA Division III history to reach 400 wins on Saturday afternoon when the Gusties defeated Saint Mary's 89-78 at Gus Young Court in St. Peter. His all-time record is now 400-176 (576 games) for a .695 winning percentage.

Anderson’s 26 Points Leads Men’s Basketball Past Saint Mary’s 89-78

The wait was a bit longer than the Gusties would have liked, but the Gustavus men's basketball team presented Head Coach Mark Hanson his 400th career victory on Saturday afternoon by defeating Saint Mary's 89-78 at Gus Young Court in St. Peter.

Men’s Basketball Falls At Augsburg 68-61

The Gustavus men's basketball team saw its recent struggles continue with a 68-61 loss to Augsburg in Minneapolis on Wednesday night. The Gusties led 31-23 at the half, but Augsburg out-scored Gustavus 45-30 in the second half to claim the seven-point victory.

Men’s Basketball Drops Fourth Straight, Loses To St. Thomas 81-70

The Gustavus men’s basketball team suffered its fourth consecutive setback Saturday afternoon with an 81-70 loss to St. Thomas in St. Peter, Minn. Seth Anderson led both teams with a career-high 28 points, but the Gusties were overpowered by a strong effort by the Tommies on both sides of the ball.

Student Athlete Advisory Board To Collect Food For St. Peter Food Shelf This Weekend

The Gustavus Student Athlete Advisory Board will be collecting non-perishable food and cash donations at the entrance to all Gustie athletics events this weekend to support the local St. Peter Food Shelf. Gustavus women's hockey will play at home on Friday night, followed by men's and women's basketball on Saturday afternoon and men's hockey on Saturday night.
