Men’s Hockey Clinches Share of MIAC Title With 5-1 Win Over Saint Mary’s
The Gustavus men's hockey team had set a goal to win the MIAC Regular Season Title at the start of the season and the team reached part of that goal on Friday when it defeated Saint Mary's 5-1 and Hamline tied Concordia 2-2. The Gusties are now assured of at least a share of this year's crown. A win or a tie on Saturday night will give the Gusties the title outright, the first for the program since 1993.
Rory Dynan’s Late Goal Gives Men’s Hockey 5-4 Win Over Hamline
Rory Dynan's goal with 1:10 left in regulation play gave the Gustavus men's hockey team a 5-4 win over Hamline and pushed the Gusties (10-2-2, 22 points) back into first place in the MIAC by one-point over Hamline (10-3-1, 21 points). Josh Swartout registered 23 saves and picked up the win in goal for Gustavus.
Men’s Hockey Sees Seven-Game Unbeaten String End With 3-1 Loss To Hamline
The Gustavus men's hockey team held a 1-0 lead through two periods, but Hamline rallied to score three times in the third period to claim an important 3-1 win and move past the Gusties into first place in the MIAC standings. Gustavus' lone goal was scored by Patrick Dynan. The two teams will wrap up the series tomorrow night at 7:05 pm at Drake Arena in St. Paul.
Josh Swartout Named MIAC Men’s Hockey Co-Athlete Of The Week
Gustavus junior goaltender Josh Swartout (St. Louis Park, Minn./St. Louis Park) has been named MIAC Co-Athlete of the Week for his efforts against Concordia this past weekend. He registered 45 saves and allowed one goal in two games to help the Gusties claim a sweep of Concordia by the scores of 5-1 and 2-0 last weekend. Swartout made 26 saves and allowed one goal in Friday night's 5-1 win in St. Peter and then on Saturday, Swartout made 19 saves and recorded his second shutout of the season as Gustavus claimed a 2-0 victory.
Swartout Shines In Goal As Men’s Hockey Team Shuts Out Concordia 2-0
Gustavus goaltender Josh Swartout turned in an outstanding performance to help the men's hockey team slip past Concordia 2-0 at Don Roberts Ice Rink in St. Peter, Minn. on Saturday afternoon. David Martinson provided the Gusties with all of the offense they would need as he scored both goals. With the win, Gustavus remains in first place in conference play with a mark of 9-1-2 (20 points). The Gusties will face Hamline in a showdown between the first and second place teams in the MIAC standings next Friday and Saturday.

The Gustavus men's hockey team jumped out to a 3-0 lead and held on for an important 3-2 win over Augsburg in Minneapolis on Saturday night. The Gusties got goals from Rory Dynan, Brad Wieck, and Joe Welch, while Josh Swartout registered 15 saves and picked up the win in goal.
Bigham’s Big Night Sparks Men’s Hockey Team To 6-2 Win Over Augsburg
Senior forward Eric Bigham scored two goals and assisted on two others to help the Gustavus men's hockey team post a convincing 6-2 win over Augsburg College at Don Roberts Ice Rink on Friday night. The Gusties led 2-0 after one period and 5-1 after two periods, before claiming the 6-2 victory. Bigham picked up assists on the first two Gustavus goals and then scored the Gusties third and sixth goals. Josh Swartout picked up the win in the nets.
