Men’s And Women’s Indoor Track & Field Have Record-Setting Day At Pre-MIAC Meet

The Gustavus men’s and women’s indoor track and field teams took part in the Pre-MIAC Meet hosted by Macalester College in St. Paul on Friday. Both the Gustie men and women had strong showings at the conference meet precursor setting Macalester indoor and field house records, but the men had an exceptional performance from their top pole vaulter.

 

Women’s Indoor Track & Field In Third Place After Day Two At MIAC Championships

The Gustavus women's indoor track and field team is currently in third place with 47 points after day two of competition at the 2011 MIAC Indoor Track and Field Championships.

Women’s Indoor Track & Field In First Place After Day 1 Of 2010 MIAC Indoor Track & Field Championships

After the first day of competition at the 2010 MIAC Indoor Track and Field Championships, the Gustavus women’s indoor track and field team sits in first place with 89 points. A fast start in the pentathlon, followed by a solid showing in the field events has put the Gusties one point ahead of second place, St. Thomas (88 points).

Kaelene Lundstrum returns as the top Gustavus performer.  Lundstrum won the pentathlon and high jump, while taking third in the 55-meter hurdles at the 2009 MIAC Indoors. 

Women’s Indoor Track & Field Season Preview

The 2010 Gustavus Adolphus women’s indoor track team will hope to remain at the top of the MIAC this season after posting an impressive second place finish at the 2009 MIAC Indoor Track Championships. Select members of the Gustavus women’s indoor track team will open the season at the Bethel University Invite on Saturday, Jan. 16, in Arden Hills, Minn.
