Women’s Golf Earns Silver At College City Challenge

In its final tuneup before the MIAC Championships, the Gustavus women’s golf team took second place out of 12 teams at the College City Challenge, hosted by Carleton College at Bellwood Oaks Golf Club. The Gusties fired a 313-332-645, which was 25 strokes behind the winner Carleton. St. Catherine took third with a 651 in a field with nine MIAC schools and Wartburg.

Women’s Golf Competes In College City Challenge This Weekend

The Gustavus women’s golf team is set to compete at the College City Challenge, hosted by Carleton College, at Bellwood Oaks Country Club in Hastings, Minn. on Saturday and Sunday. Saturday’s first tee time is 10:15 a.m., while Sunday’s final round begins at 9 a.m.

The Gustavus women’s golf team concluded play at the NCAA Division III Preview on Monday, taking eighth place out 14 teams in a nationally ranked field. The Gusties posted a 325-330-655, which was 49 strokes behind the winner New York University. Carnegie Mellon took second with a 639 and Washington and Lee placed third with a 641.

Women’s Golf Sits In Fourth Place After Day One At NCAA Preview

Competing against some of the best teams in the country, the Gustavus women’s golf team sits in a tie for fourth place after round one at the NCAA Division III Preview, which is being played at Mission Inn Resort. The Gusties fired a first round 325, which is 27 strokes behind the leader New York University. Carnegie Mellon is in second place at 322 and Washington and Lee is in third at 323.

Women’s Golf Wins UW-Eau Claire Invite For Third-Straight Year

The Gustavus women’s golf team claimed the Georgianni – Blugold Invite championship Monday at the Eau Claire Golf and Country Club after shooting a 328-330-658 (+82). This is the third consecutive year the Gusties have won the Georgianni – Blugold Invite. Host UW-Eau Claire took second with a 678 and St. Norbert took third at 722. Morgan Bleyhl (So., Elk River, Minn.) and McKenzie Swenson (Sr., Buffalo, Minn.) tied for medalist honors, each carding a 162 (+18). Bleyhl shot 81 both days, while Swenson shot an 82 yesterday and 80 today.

Women’s Golf Sits In Fourth After Day One Of Saint Ben’s Invite

The Gustavus women's golf team is in fourth place after the first day of the College of Saint Benedict Invitational after turning in a team score of 333 Saturday afternoon at Blackberry Ridge Golf Course.

The Women’s Golf Coaches Association (WGCA) All-American Scholars were announced today with a total of 952 women’s collegiate golfers recognized and three Gustavus women's golfers included on the list.

Meierhenry Named WGCA All-American Honorable Mention

The Women's Golf Coaches Association announced the 2016-17 student-athlete and coaches awards for Division III Women's Collegiate Golf on Wednesday. Gustavus women's golf standout Mae Meierhenry (Sr., Sioux Falls, S.D.) was recognized as a WGCA Division III All-American Honorable Mention.

Three Gusties Named MIAC Women’s Golf All-Conference, Meierhenry Senior Of The Year

The Gustavus women's golf trio of Mae Meierhenry (Sr., Sioux Falls, S.D.), Jessica Nelson (Jr., Plymouth, Minn.), and Kristen Cash (Fy., Roseville, Minn.) earned spots on the Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference All-Conference team, while Meierhenry was also named the MIAC Senior of the Year, announced on Thursday by the MIAC office.
