Meierhenry Named WGCA All-American Honorable Mention Posted on May 11th, 2017 by

CORAL SPRINGS, Fla. – The Women’s Golf Coaches Association announced the 2016-17 student-athlete and coaches awards for Division III Women’s Collegiate Golf on Wednesday. Gustavus women’s golf standout Mae Meierhenry (Sr., Sioux Falls, S.D.) was recognized as a WGCA Division III All-American Honorable Mention.

Recently completing her career in Black and Gold as the top senior Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference, Meierhenry earned the MIAC Senior of the Year Award. Meierhenry finished among the top-five individual leaders in the MIAC with an average score of 78.7 through 17 rounds and led the Gusties with three top-10 and two top-five finishes. On April 11 and April 18, Meierhenry garnered back-to-back MIAC Athlete of the Week honors, guiding Gustavus to two second place finishes at the Washington University Spring Invite and the Battle of the Creek, carding scores of 72, 77, and 73.

Finishing in the top-10 during the MIAC Championships in October, Meierhenry earned an automatic spot of the All-Conference team. She tied for fifth place at Bunker Hills Golf Course, earning a spot on the All-Championship Team and leading the Gusties to a third place finish with a three-round score of 236 (+20). In addition, Meierhenry was selected as a member of the All-MIAC Sportsmanship Team.
