Swimming & Diving Opens Season Tomorrow, Split Squads At Hamline And Saint Mary’s

The Gustavus men’s and women’s swimming & diving squads are ready for the 2017-18 season to begin Saturday. The Gusties will send split squads to Hamline and Saint Mary’s. Both meets begin at 1 p.m.

Swimming & Diving Named To CSCAA Scholar All-America Teams

The Gustavus men’s and women’s swimming & diving teams both received recognition from the College Swimming and Diving Coaches Association (CSCAA) as Scholar All-America Teams. The awards are in recognition of teams that achieved a grade point average of 3.0 or higher during the 2016 Fall Semester. The Gustie men achieved a 3.22 team GPA during the Fall Semester, while the women posted a 3.15 GPA – both marks that rank third among Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference teams.

Swimming & Diving Competes At Morningside’s Mustang Invite

The Gustavus men’s and women’s swimming teams competed at the Mustang Invitational at Morningside College on Saturday. The women took third place out of eight teams, while the men took fourth place out of five teams. Augustana University won the women’s competition, while Iowa Central Community College won the men’s.

Swimming & Diving Squads Recognized As CSCAA Scholar All-America Teams

The College Swimming & Diving Coaches Association of America (CSCAA) has designated 658 swimming and diving teams, representing 388 colleges and universities as Scholar All-America teams, and both the Gustavus men’s and women’s teams received the distinction. The Gustie men posted a team GPA of 3.25, while the women’s team registered a 3.35 GPA. The recognition comes as a result of each team's classroom performance in the past semester. It is only the second time in the program’s 30-plus year history of the program that more than 600 teams.
