Cross Country To Take Part In UW-La Crosse Drews/Neubauer Invite

The Gustavus men’s and women’s cross country teams are set to compete in the UW-La Crosse Drews/Neubauer Invitational on Saturday. The 37th annual Jim Drews Invite (men) begins at 10:30 a.m., while the 24th annual Tori Neubauer Invite (women) starts at 11:30 a.m. at the Ettrick Golf Club in Ettrick, Wis.

Women’s Cross Country Takes Third At Carleton’s Running Of The Cows, Men Seventh

The Gustavus men’s and women’s cross country teams competed at Carleton’s Running of the Cows Saturday with the men taking seventh place out of 12 and the women finishing third out of 12. Carleton won the women’s race and Carthage won the men’s.

After two weeks off, the Gustavus men’s and women’s cross country teams are back in action Saturday at Carleton’s Running of the Cows. The men’s race beings at 10:30 a.m., while the women follow at 11:15 a.m.

Women’s Cross Country Takes Eighth At St. Olaf, Men 10th

The Gustavus men’s and women’s cross country teams participated in the St. Olaf Invitational Saturday morning with both squads finishing in the top-10. The women placed eighth of 23 teams, while the men took 10th out of 19.

The Gustavus men’s and women’s cross country teams are set to compete in the St. Olaf Invitational Saturday. The men’s race begins at 10 a.m. followed by the women at 11 a.m. Last season at the St. Olaf Invite, the women placed 11th of 23, while the men finished 5th of 20. 

Cross Country Hosts Annual Alumni Meet

The Gustavus cross country program hosted its annual Alumni Meet on Saturday at the Linneaus Arboretum with 26 women competing and 44 men. The current Gusties defeated the “Rusty Gustie” alumni by marks of 28-31 for the men and 24-37 for the women.

Women’s Cross Country Claims First At Crown Invite, Men Third

The Gustavus men’s and women’s cross country teams posted great showings in their first races of the season Friday at the Crown College Invite. The women took first place out of nine teams, including four runners in the top-10, while the men took third out of eight teams. The Gustie women finished one point ahead of Wartburg, while the men finished one point behind second place Concordia-St. Paul.

2017 Cross Country Preview

The Gustavus men’s and women’s cross country teams begin a new era today under the direction of head coach Brenden Huber, who was promoted this summer after serving as an assistant for the past decade. The Gusties travel to Crown College with the women’s race beginning at 5:30 p.m. and the men at 6 p.m. Preseason training has been going on for a couple weeks and the anticipation for the season to begin is running high.

Carston Dammann Named CoSIDA Academic All-American

The 2017 College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA) Academic All-America Men’s Track & Field/Cross Country Teams were released Thursday and Gustavus senior Carston Dammann (Lake City, Minn.) was named to the 15-member Second Team. The CoSIDA Academic All-America Teams recognize the nation’s top student-athletes for their combined performances athletically and in the classroom.

Brenden Huber Named Head Cross Country Coach

The Gustavus cross country and track & field programs will see a shift in coaching responsibilities, Athletics Director Tom Brown announced today. Brenden Huber, who has been the lead assistant for the men’s and women’s cross country and track & field teams the past eight years, has been promoted to head men’s and women’s cross country coach. Dale Bahr, head coach for both the cross country and track & field programs the past eight years, will now focus his attention solely on the men’s and women’s track & field teams. Huber will remain as the lead assistant for the track & field program.
