    Gustavus football player Brian Evans (Gaylord, Minn.) has been named the Defensive Player of the Week by the Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (MIAC). Evans, a junior cornerback, intercepted a pass and recovered a fumble against Wheaton College last Saturday.

  • Football Falls to Valley City State 10-3

    The Gustavus Adolphus College football team dropped its season opener 10-3 to Valley City State University in Valley City, North Dakota. The Golden Gustie defense limited the Vikings to 256 yards of total offense and forced three turnovers, however the offense could manage only 222 yards and three points against the Valley City defense.

    The post-season awards continue to roll in for Gustavus linebacker Isaac Sieling as he was recently named to the Associated Press Little All-America First Team. This is the 14th time that a Gustavus player has been named to the AP Little All-America team.

    Gustavus linebacker Isaac Sieling has been selected to play for the American Football Coaches Association’s Division III all-star team that will play the Mexican National Team in the 2004 Aztec Bowl on December 11 in Cancun, Mexico.

  • Football Drops Final Game of the Season to Bethel 28-17

    The Gustavus football team fell to Bethel 28-17 Saturday afternoon in the final game of the season. The Gusties ended the year with an overall record of 2-8 and 2-6 in conference play, good for a sixth place finish in the MIAC standings.
