Andy Bryan and Charlie Paukert Finish Second at NCAA Doubles Championship
Gustavus men's tennis players Andy Bryan and Charlie Paukert finished second in the NCAA Doubles Championship on Sunday afternoon in Lewiston, Maine. The Gusties, who were unseeded in the tournament, lost to Guillaume Schils and Larry Wang of Claremont-Mudd-Scripps 3-6, 4-6 in the championship match.
Andy Bryan and Charlie Paukert Advance To Semifinals Of NCAA Doubles Tournament
Senior Andy Bryan and junior Charlie Paukert continued their charge towards the NCAA Division III Doubles title with a win over the #3 seeded team of Filip Marinkovic and Andrew Thomson of Middlebury, 7-6 (2), 7-6 (3) in a quarterfinal match on Saturday afternoon. Bryan and Paukert will now face Ben Stein and Amrit Rupasinghe of host Bates on Sunday afternoon at 2 pm (EST). The winner will play for the NCAA Division III Doubles Championship at 4 pm (EST).
Bryan and Paukert Advance to Semifinals in Singles and Doubles at ITA Championships, White and Krebsbach To Play for Third Place
The Gustavus contingent at the Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) Small College Championships had an interesting first day highlighted by Andy Bryan advancing to the semifinals in singles and teaming with Charlie Paukert to advance to the semifinals in doubles on the men's side. On the women's side Jenni White and Sierra Krebsbach dropped first round matches in singles, but split two matches in doubles play and will now play for third place in the doubles draw.
