Gustavus Baseball Doubleheader Versus Hamline Moved Up To 11 AM Start

The Gustavus Adolphus College baseball doubleheader scheduled for Saturday, April 18 at 1 pm in St. Peter against Hamline has been moved up to 11 am in hopes of beating the rainy weather forecasted for Saturday afternoon.

Baseball Splits Doubleheader At Carleton 1-6, 6-0

The Gustavus baseball team picked up a doubleheader split against Carleton on Wednesday afternoon in Northfield. The Knights came away with a 6-1 win in the first game, but Andrew Woitas and Kevin Hagen combined to hurl a one-hit shutout in game two to help the Gusties earn the split in a 6-0 decision. Alan Woitas led the squad at the plate as he combined to go for 5-for-9 and scored three runs in both games.

Baseball Wins 4-2 In 13 Innings To Salvage Split At Bethel, Drops First Game 3-0

The Gustavus baseball team rallied to score two runs with two outs in the top of the 13th inning to defeat Bethel 4-2 to salvage a series split with the Royals on Saturday. Bethel prevailed in the first game 3-0 as the Gusties managed just four hits. In game one, Brandon Knoll was the hard-luck pitcher in the loss, while Cody Sukalski worked 11 innings in a pitching gem in game two. Tory Herman pitched two scoreless innings in relief to record the second game win.

Baseball Sweeps Saint John’s, Extends Win Streak To Five Games

The Gustavus baseball team extended its current winning streak to five games as it defeated Saint John's 5-3 and 7-2 in St. Peter on Tuesday. Baseball Opens MIAC Schedule With Sweep Over Saint Mary’s

The Gustavus baseball team kicked off its MIAC schedule with a pair of wins against Saint Mary's by the scores of 6-0 and 6-5 in eight innings in Winona on Thursday. Cody Sukalski pitched a complete game shutout in the first game, while Derek Eddie earned the win in the second game after pitching 4.2 innings in relief. Tory Herman and Chad Eul combined to go 8-for-15 from the plate with five RBI. The Gusties improved to 9-9 overall and 2-0 in the conference.

Baseball Doubleheader With Concordia On Sunday Postponed

The Gustavus baseball team's doubleheader against Concordia scheduled for Sunday, April 5 at 1:00 pm in St. Peter has been postponed. No make up date has been set at this time. The doubleheader was originally scheduled for Saturday, March 28 at the Metrodome.

MIAC Profile of Excellence: Mike DesLauriers

Gustavus senior Mike DesLauriers (Minnetonka, Minn.), a four-year starter at shortstop for the Golden Gustie baseball team, was recently selected as the focus in the MIAC Profiles of Excellence series produced by College Sporting News. DesLauriers, an All-MIAC First Team selection in 2007 and Third Team All-Region honoree last year in baseball, was also a member of the Gustavus men's basketball team.

Gustavus Baseball To Play In The MIAC Baseball Showcase

The Gustavus baseball will kick off its Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (MIAC) baseball schedule on Saturday against Concordia College at 1:30 p.m. at the Metrodome as part of the MIAC Baseball Showcase. The MIAC Baseball Showcase will be Friday and Saturday, March 27 and 28, as five conference doubleheaders will be played at the Metrodome in Minneapolis.

Baseball Doubleheader With Concordia On Saturday Postponed Indefinitely

The Gustavus baseball team's doubleheader against Concordia scheduled for Saturday, March 28 at 1:30 pm in the Metrodome has been postponed so the Concordia players can stay in Moorhead to help fight the flooding. No make up date has been set at this time. The Gusties' next doubleheader is scheduled to be played at Saint Mary's on Wednesday at 2:30 pm.

Baseball Team Splits Doubleheader With Oberlin, Moves To 7-9 Overall

The Gustavus baseball team wrapped up its spring break trip in Chandler, Arizona by splitting a doubleheader with Oberlin College. The Gusties lost game one 7-6, but prevailed in game two 20-2. Gustavus, which is now 7-9 overall, returns to action against Concordia in its league opener on Saturday at the Metrodome in Minneapolis at 1:30 pm.
