The Gustavus women's basketball team cruised to a 73-52 victory over Macalester on Wednesday night on Gus Young Court. The Gusties were led by Molly Geske who scored a game-high 20 points on 9-of-15 shooting. Gustavus improves to 4-3 overall and 3-1 in the MIAC, while Macalester falls to 1-6 overall and 1-3 in the MIAC.
Women’s Basketball Wins Double OT Thriller 67-58 Over St. Olaf
The Gustavus women’s basketball team came away with a thrilling 67-58 double-overtime victory over St. Olaf on Monday night in Northfield, Minn. With the victory, Gustavus improves to 3-3 overall and 2-1 in the MIAC. St. Olaf falls to 4-2 overall and 1-2 in the MIAC.
Women’s Basketball Falls 70-58 To Wartburg In Season Opener
The Gustavus women’s basketball team suffered a 70-58 loss to Wartburg College in the 2010 season opener on Monday night in Waverly, Iowa. The Gusties are now 0-1 on the season and will face UW-River Falls in the their first home contest on Wednesday night at 7:30 p.m. in St. Peter.
Women’s Basketball Posts Convincing 67-44 Win Over St. Olaf
The Gustavus women's basketball team inched another step closer to a regular season conference title with a 67-44 win over St. Olaf at Gus Young Court in St. Peter on Wednesday night. The Gusties used a 22-1 run over an eight minute period in the first half to build a 17-point lead and never looked back on its way to an important win over the Oles. Sophomore Ava Perry turned in an outstanding performance for Gustavus as she scored a career high 18 points on 6-of-7 shooting from the field including 4-of-5 from behind the arc.
Strong Second Half Propels Women’s Basketball Team To 66-61 Win Over Concordia
After shooting poorly and trailing by three points at halftime, the Gustavus women's basketball team came to life in the second half and outscored Concordia 40-32 on its way to an important 66-61 conference victory. Molly Mathiowetz led the Gusties in scoring with 17 points including 11 in the second half. Gustavus has now won four straight games and is 4-1 on the season.
