Zach May Scores Twice As Men’s Hockey Defeats Augsburg 4-1

The Gustavus men's hockey team defeated Augsburg 4-1 on Saturday night in St. Peter, Minn. Zach May capped off a breakout weekend with a pair of goals in the victory. With the win, Gustavus improves to 4-2-2 in the MIAC and 10-5-2 overall, while Augsburg falls to 2-3-1 in the MIAC and 8-5-2 overall.

Zach May scored the game-tying goal late in the second period. 

Men’s Hockey Comes Back To Force 2-2 Tie With Augsburg

The Gustavus men's hockey team climbed back from a two-goal deficit to tie the game at 2-2 late in the second period, holding on for the tie against MIAC foe Augsburg on Friday in Minneapolis. Gustavus moves to 9-5-2 overall and 3-2-2 in the MIAC, while Augsburg goes to 8-4-2 overall and 2-2-1 in the MIAC.

Men’s Hockey Looks To Rebound This Weekend Against Augsburg

The Gustavus men's hockey team will battle Augsburg this weekend on Friday in Minneapolis and Saturday in St. Peter. The puck will drop at 7:05 p.m. in both contests. Gustavus enters the weekend with an overall record of 9-5-1 and a MIAC record of 3-2-1, while Augsburg comes in with an overall record of 8-4-1 overall and a MIAC mark of 2-2-0.

Football Falls 17-14 On The Road To Augsburg

The Gustavus football team suffered a heartbreaking 17-14 loss at the hands on Augsburg on Saturday afternoon in Minneapolis. With the loss, Gustavus falls to 3-6 overall and 2-5 in the MIAC, while Augsburg improves to 4-5 overall, and 2-5 in the MIAC.

Football Set To Take On Augsburg In Final Road Test

The Gustavus football team will travel to Minneapolis to take on the Auggies of Augsburg College on Saturday, Nov. 6, at 1:00 p.m. Gustavus enters the game with an overall record of 3-5 and a MIAC record of 2-4, while Augsburg enters with an overall record of 3-5 and a MIAC record of 1-5.

Tim Miller was 5-for-8 with one run on the day.  He was a perfect 4-for-4 in game one against Augsburg. 

Road Struggles Continue, Baseball Swept By Augsburg

The Gustavus baseball team fell to 0-8 on the road in MIAC play with 11-7, and 3-2 losses to Augsburg on Wednesday afternoon in Minneapolis. Gustavus falls to 15-21 overall and 5-13 in the MIAC, while Augsburg stays in the playoff chase, improving to 18-19 overall and 11-7 in the MIAC.

Dani Cattrysse drove in the winning run in the top of the ninth inning in game one. 

Softball Splits Doubleheader With Augsburg, Drops To Second Place in League Standings

The Gustavus softball team played two nailbiters with Augsburg on Tuesday afternoon and the Gusties managed to win game one 3-2 in nine innings, but the Auggies scored twice in the bottom of the seventh to win game two 4-3. Gustavus is now 19-7 overall and 12-2 in league play.

Men’s Hockey Defeats Augsburg 6-5 in Four Overtimes, Sets NCAA Record For Longest Game In Division III History

The Gustavus men’s hockey team defeated Augsburg College 6-5 when senior forward Eric Bigham scored the game-winning goal at 18:38 of the fourth overtime on Saturday nightat Don Roberts Ice Rink in St. Peter, Minn. The win allows the Gusties to advance to the championship game of the MIAC Playoff Tournament which will be played against St. Thomas at Gustavus on Wednesday, March 3 at 7:05 pm. The third-seeded Tommies defeated the second-seeded Pipers 5-4 in overtime on Saturday night at Drake Arena in St. Paul.

Women’s Hockey Defeats Augsburg 8-0, Wins Sixth Consecutive MIAC Title

The Gustavus women's hockey team scored four first period goals and never looked back on its way to a convincing 8-0 win over Augsburg at Don Roberts Ice Rink on Saturday afternoon. With the win, the Gusties claimed their sixth consecutive league title and earned the #1 seed in the MIAC Playoff Tournament, which begins next Thursday.

Women’s Hockey Defeats Augsburg 4-0, Needs Win On Saturday to Win MIAC Title Outright

The Gustavus women's hockey team defeated Augsburg 4-0 Friday night in Minneapolis, Minn. The Gusties led 1-0 after the first period. Mike Carroll's squard scored two more goals in the second period and one in the third securing the 4-0 victory. Last night's win assures the Gusties of at least a top two seed in the MIAC Post-Season Tournament.
