The Johnnies won 7-6 in eight innings in game one, and 4-3 in nine innings in game two. Gustavus falls to 15-22 overall and 5-14 in the MIAC, while Saint John’s improves to 20-16 overall and 13-6 in the MIAC.

Gustavus Adolphus senior shortstop/pitcher Alan Woitas (Sleepy Eye, Minn.) has been named MIAC Baseball Player of the Week for his efforts last week as the Gusties went 4-2 in non-conference play against opponents Loras College (L 12-4, L 4-3), Thomas College (W 12-1, W 4-1), and Marian University (W 9-7, W 9-2). Woitas hit .455 (10-22), tallying six RBIs, eight runs, two doubles, and a home run.
The Gustavus baseball team improved to 5-3 overall on the season by sweeping Marian College by the scores of 9-6 and 8-2 on Sunday afternoon in Phoenix, Arizona. The Gusties will play Elmhurst College of Illinois on Monday at 3:30 pm (CDT).
