Allison Bohn Leads Women’s Nordic Ski Team In Women’s Classic 5K Race At Camp Ripley

Senior Allison Bohn turned in the finest performance of her collegiate career and finished 12th (out of 60) in the Central Collegiate Ski Association 5K Classic race which was held at Camp Ripley near Little Falls, Minn. on Saturday. Bohn posted a time of 16:08. Kelly Chaudoin was 12 seconds behind Bohn in 14th place with a time of 16:20. The Gusties will take part in the 10K Freestyle race on Sunday.

Eppler, Chaudoin, And Bohn Post Top Twenty Finishes As Women’s Nordic Ski Team Finishes Fourth At Freestyle Race At Camp Ripley

The Gustavus women's nordic ski team finished fourth out of ten teams in the 15K freestyle race at the CCSA Qualifier on Sunday at Camp Ripley near Little Falls, Minn. Erin Eppler led the Gustie contingent with a 12th place finish in a time of 42:45. Kelly Chaudoin finished in 13th place with a time of 42:46, and Allison Bohn posted a 20th place finish in a time of 43:47.

Women’s Nordic Ski Team Finishes Fourth Overall At Telemark SuperTour in Cable, Wisconsin

The Gustavus women's nordic skiing team turned in another strong weekend of skiing at the Telemark SuperTour race in Cable, Wisconsin. The Gusties finished fourth in the 5k classic race on Saturday and fifth in the 10k freestyle race on Sunday for an overall finish of fourth place.

Kelly Chaudoin Turns In Two Strong Performances To Lead the Nordic Ski Team at Mount Itasca Super Tour Races

Senior Kelly Chaudoin finished seventh overall and first in the collegiate division in the women's 10 kilometer freestyle race held at Mount Itasca in Coleraine, Minn. on Sunday afternoon. Chaudoin turned in one of the strongest performances of her career as she finished :53 seconds ahead of her closest collegiate competitor. Chaudoin also added a 25th place finish on Saturday in the 10 kilometer classic race.

Kelly Chaudoin Finishes 40th At U.S. National Cross Country Skiing Championships

Gustavus senior Kelly Chaudoin posted an impressive 40th place finish in the 5k freestyle race (16:34) at the U.S. National Cross Country Skiing Championships being held in Anchorage, Alaska. In a field that contained nearly all of the finest amateur skiers in the U.S., Chaudoin's finish was the fourth highest among skiers from the Central Region to cross the finish line and the second highest among Division III competitors.

Women’s Nordic Skiing Finish 18th At NCAA Skiing Championships

Gustavus women's Nordic skier Laura Edlund turned in the highest finish by a Gustie at the NCAA Skiing Championships with a 18th-place finish in the 15K Classic race at Bohart Ranch in Bozeman, Mont. Kathleen DeWahl and Kelly Chaudoin turned in top 30 finishes at 27th and 29th, respectively. The performances by Edlund, DeWahl, and Chaudoin assured the Gusties at least an 18th-place finish in the team standings, which would be the highest finish by a Gustavus Nordic ski team.

Women’s Nordic Skiing Set To Compete At NCAA Skiing Championships

Nordic skiers Laura Edlund, Kathleen DeWahl, and Kelly Chaudoin will participate in the 55th annual NCAA Collegiate Skiing Championships this week, March 5-8, at Bohart Ranch in Bozeman, Mont. These skiers earned the right to participate in the championships based on point totals earned in eight Central Collegiate Ski Association (CCSA) races throughout the season.

Women’s Nordic Skiers Finish Second At CCSA Regional Championships

The Gustavus women's Nordic ski team saved its best performance of the season with a second place finish at the Central Collegiate Ski Association (CCSA) Regional Championships in Biwabik, Minn. on February 16-17. The Gusties earned 146 points for their highest finish ever at the regional championships. Northern Michigan captured the team title with 166 points, while the University of Alaska in Fairbanks compiled 130 points for third place.

Friedrich Named CCSA Women’s Nordic Ski Coach of the Year

Jed Friedrich of Gustavus Adolphus College has been named the Central Collegiate Ski Association (CCSA) Women's Nordic Ski Coach of the Year based on an unanimous vote by CCSA coaches. Friedrich, a fourth-year coach at Gustavus, is a St. Cloud, Minn., native who skied at Northern Michigan University where he graduated from in 2003.
