4×400 Relay Sets School Record At Drake Relays, Geyen Finishes 9th In 110 Hurdles

Gustavus senior Tyler Geyen finished third in his heat of the 110-meter hurdles with a time of 14.66 at the prestigious Drake Relays in Des Moines, Iowa on Friday. Geyen narrowly missed qualifying for the finals as he was ninth overall and the top Division III finisher in the preliminaries. The 4x400 relay team of Geyen, Matt Leeb, Cole Carlson, and Colby Citrowske posted a time of 3:16.63 to finish fourth in its heat and 10th overall.

Lisa Brown, Tyler Geyen, and 4×400 Men’s Relay Team To Compete At Drake Relays

Five track and field athletes will represent Gustavus at the prestigious Drake Relays in Des Moines, Iowa on Friday. Senior Lisa Brown (Lake Crystal, Minn.) is the lone Division III competitor entered in the javelin, which will take place at 2 p.m. on Friday. Last year, Brown finished seventh with a mark of 156-6. Senior Tyler Geyen (Watertown, Minn.) will compete in the 110-meter hurdles preliminaries at 11:35 a.m. with the final taking place on Saturday at 3:49 p.m.

Track and Field Set To Host Drake Alternative Meet on Saturday

The Gustavus men's and women's track and field teams are set to host the Drake Alternative Meet on Saturday, April 25 with field events beginning at 10:30 a.m. and track events beginning at 12:15 p.m. The schedule of events and heat sheets are available below.

Tyler Geyen Named MIAC Men’s Outdoor Track Athlete of the Week

Gustavus Adolphus senior track athlete Tyler Geyen (Watertown, Minn./Watertown-Mayer) was named the Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference Men's Outdoor Field Athlete of the Week for the week ending April 20, 2009. Geyen took first place in the 110-meter hurdles with a NCAA provisional qualifying time of 14.62 at the Carleton Relays in Northfield on Saturday. His performance helped the Gusties win the meet with 163 points.

Men’s Track and Field Finishes First At Carleton Relays

The Gustavus men's track and field team won five individual events as it compiled 163 points to claim first place at the Carleton Relays in Northfield on Saturday. The Gusties finished nearly 20 points ahead of second-place finisher Hamline, which earned 143.5 points. Bethel was third with 119 points followed by host Carleton, which tallied 94.5 points. Tyler Geyen took first place in the 110-meter hurdles with a NCAA provisional qualifying time of 14.62.

Men’s Track and Field Turns In Strong Performance At Lee Krough Invitational

The Gustavus men's track and field posted 14 top-eight finishes for a solid team showing at the Lee Krough Invitational on Friday in St. Peter. No team scores were kept during the meet in which over 20 teams participated. Two sprinters finished the meet with event titles in a NCAA provisional qualifying times as Tyler Geyen (Sr., Watertown, Minn.) won the 110-meter hurdles in 14.77 and Cole Carlson (Jr., Mora, Minn.) won the 400-meter dash in 48.26.

Men’s Track and Field Opens Outdoor Season With Fifth Place Finish At Central Invitational

The Gustavus Adolphus College men's track and field team opened its outdoor season with a fifth-place finish at the Central Invitational in Pella, Iowa. Division I institution Northern Iowa scored 215 points to claim the team title, followed by Division II UM-Duluth (149), host Central College (89), Iowa Central Community College (85) and Gustavus (61).

Track And Field Team Will Not Compete In Bronco Relays

Due to inclement weather, the Gustavus men's and women's track and field teams will not be competing in the Bronco Relays hosted by Hastings College on Saturday. Meet officials postponed the competition to Sunday due to weather conditions, which will not allow the Gusties to compete at the meet. The first outdoor track and field meet of the season will be Saturday, April 4 at the Central Invitational in Pella, Iowa.

Tyler Geyen Finishes Fourth In 55-Meter Hurdles At NCAA Championships

Senior Tyler Geyen finished fourth in the 55-meter hurdles at the NCAA Indoor Track and Field Championships hosted by Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology in Terre Haute, Indiana on Saturday. Geyen crossed the finish line with a time of 7.55 seconds. The Gusties finished the meet tied for 40th place with 5 points from Geyen's performance.

Kaelene Lundstrum Finishes Fifth In Pentathlon, Seventh In High Jump At NCAA Indoor Championships

Junior Kaelene Lundstrum finished fifth in the pentathlon and tied for seventh in the high jump at the NCAA Indoor Track and Field Championships on Friday in Terre Haute, Indiana. Lundstrum earned 3,366 points in the pentathlon and cleared a height of 5 feet, 3 1/4 inches in the high jump. Senior Tyler Geyen advanced the 55-meter hurdle final after finishing tied for second place with a time of 7.54 seconds in his qualifying heat.
