Men’s Golf Opens Play at NCAA Championships Today

The Gustavus men's golf team will begin play at the NCAA Division III Championships today in Lincoln, Nebraska. The 72-hole tournament that runs Monday thru Thursday will be play at Firethorne Golf Club. The Gusties, who enter the national tournament ranked 10th nationally, will tee off beginning at 12:00 pm on Monday.

Men’s Golf Struggles During First Day of NCAA Championship

The Gustavus men's golf team got off to a rocky start at the NCAA Division III Men's Golf Championships as the team shot a disappointing team score of 320 (+36) and sits in 18th place out of 23 teams. The four-day tournament is being played at Firethorn Golf Club in Lincoln, Nebraska.

Men’s and Women’s Golf, Men’s and Women’s Tennis Selected For 2006 NCAA Championships

The Gustavus men's and women's golf and men's and women's tennis teams have been selected to participate in the 2006 NCAA Division III Championships in their respective sports. The women's tennis team will kick things off, hosting opening round play May 5-6, while the men's tennis team will travel to Kenosha, Wisconsin for opening round play May 6-7. The men's golf team will compete May 8-11 in Lincoln, Nebraska. The women's golf team will compete May 9-12 in Howey-in-the-Hills, Florida.

Men’s Golf Team Places Fifth at Saint John’s Invitational

The Gustavus men's golf team finished fifth out of 14 teams at the Saint John's Invitational played at Rich Spring Golf Club in Roccori, Minnesota. The competing teams played 36 holes today in the one-day event. The Gusties posted a total of 297-297--594 to finish 14 strokes behind host Saint John's at 300-280--580. Sophomore Jordan Hawkinson led Gustavus individually as he placed 11th with a total 73-75--148.

Men’s Golf Team Wins Bobby Krig Invitational

The Gustavus men's golf team finished three shots ahead of region rivals Saint John's and UW-Eau Claire to claim first place honors at its own Bobby Krig Invitational. The Gusties finished with a 54-hole total of 289-304-311--904. Mark Stuckey led the Gusties individually as he placed fourth with a total of 70-77-79--226.

Men’s Golf in Second Place After First Day of Bobby Krig Invitational

Saint John's University (591) leads host Gustavus Adolphus (593) by two shots after the first day of the Bobby Krig Invitational which is being played at LeSueur Country Club in LeSueur, Minnesota. The teams played 36 holes today and the tournament will wrap up tomorrow with 18 holes at LeSueur CC. Joe Schoolmeesters of Saint John's is in first place individually with a total of 73-73--146.

Men’s Golf Finishes Second at 20-Team Buena Vista Invitational

The Gustavus men's golf team started its spring season with a strong second place finish at the Buena Vista Invitational in Storm Lake, Iowa. The Gusties posted a team score of 296-321--617 to finish seven shots behind champion Nebraska Wesleyan (295-315 -- 610). Jordan Hawkinson finished fifth individually with a score of 75-77 -- 152.

Men’s Golf in Second Place After First Day of Buena Vista Invitational

The Gustavus men's golf team is in second place after the first day of the 20-team Buena Vista Invitational. The tournament will conclude with the second round on Saturday in Storm Lake. Mark Stuckey led Gustavus with an opening round 73.

Saint John’s Claims MIAC Golf Title, Gustavus Finishes Second

The Saint John's University men's golf team claimed its second consecutive MIAC Championship with a 36-hole total of 301-295--596. The Johnnies finished 11 strokes ahead of second place Gustavus which posted a total of 308-299--607. Freshman Joe Daly of Saint John's claimed medalist honors with a 36-hole total of 73-69--142 (-2).
