Jordan Hawkinson And Mark Stuckey Named GCAA All-America Scholars

Gustavus Adolphus College men's golfers Jordan Hawkinson (Sr., Lindstrom, Minn./Chisago Lakes), and Mark Stuckey (Sr., St. Peter, Minn.) have been recognized by the Golf Coaches Association of America (GCAA) as Division III Cleveland Golf All-America Scholars for their play on the links as well as their work in the classroom. Hawkinson leads the team with a 75.1 scoring average, while Stuckey is third (76.3) during the 2007-08 season.

Men’s Golf Climbs Up To 18th Place At NCAA Championships

The Gustavus men's golf team climbed up the leaderboard three places to stand in 18th place heading into the last round of the NCAA Division III Men's Golf Championships on Thursday at Chateau Elan Resort in Braselton, Georgia, by recording a team score of 304 for a three-day total of 320-317-304--941. St. John Fisher College remains the team leader by four strokes with a three-round total of 302-294-297--893.

Men’s Golf Remains Steady At NCAA Championships In 21st Place

The Gustavus men's golf team dropped to 21st place after the second round of the NCAA Division III Men's Golf Championships on Wednesday at Chateau Elan Resort in Braselton, Georgia, but improved its team score by firing a 317 for a two-day total of 320-317--637. St. John Fisher College currently stands as the team leader with a two-day total of 302-294--596.

Men’s Golf Off To Slow Start After First Day of NCAA Championships

The Gustavus men's golf team got off to a slow start at the NCAA Division III Men's Golf Championships as the team shot a disappointing team score of 320 (+36) and sits in tie for 20th place out of 35 teams. The four-day tournament is being played at Chateau Elan Resort in Braselton, Georgia.

Scott Moe Named MIAC Men’s Golf Co-Coach of the Year; Jordan Hawkinson Named To All-MIAC Sportsmanship Team

The Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (MIAC) announced Gustavus Adolphus head coach Scott Moe has been named the MIAC Men's Golf Co-Coach of the Year on Monday, May 12. Senior Jordan Hawkinson (Sr., Lindstrom, Minn./Chisago Lakes) was selected for the All-MIAC Sportsmanship Team. Moe led the Gusties to their 25th MIAC Championship in school history with a team total of 880 (+16) at Bunker Hills in October.

Men’s Golf Selected To Participate In NCAA Championships

The NCAA Division III Men's Golf Selection Committee announced the Gustavus men's golf team was selected as one of 35 teams to participate in the 2008 NCAA Division III Men's Golf Championships. Coach Scott Moe and the Golden Gusties earned a spot in the national tournament by virtue of capturing the MIAC Championships this past fall. The championships will be held May 13-16 at the Chateau Elan Resort in Braselton, Georgia and hosted by Emory University.

Men’s Golf Loses Dual Meet With Saint John’s

In its final competition before the NCAA Championships, the Gustavus men's golf team lost to Saint John's 323-302 on Saturday afternoon at the Wayzata Country Club. The Gusties were led by Mark Stuckey (Sr., St. Peter, Minn.), who fired a total of 76, to finish in third place individually. Joe Schoolmeesters of Saint John's was the medalist with a score of 72. Gustavus will compete in the NCAA Championships at Chateau Elan in Brasilton, Ga. on May 13-16.

Men’s Golf Finishes Fifth At Saint John’s Invitational

The Gustavus men's golf team finished fifth at the 16-team Saint John's Invitational played Sunday at the par-70 Monticello Country Club in Monticello, Minnesota. The Gusties fired an 18-hole total of 297 and finished eight shots behind first place St. Cloud State University and Saint John's. Gustavus was led individually by Alex Woodhull, who finished in a three-way tie for fourth place with a score of 71.

Men’s Golf Finishes Second At Third Annual Bobby Krig Invitational

The Gustavus men's golf team fired a team score of 306 on the second day of the Bobby Krig Invititational and finished second with a 54-hole total of 292-298-306--896. Saint John's won the team title with a total of 286-295-290--871. Individually, Matt Bohlig of Saint John's claimed medalist honors with a total of 70-73-69--212. Mark Stuckey paced Gustavus with a total of 71-71-78--220 to finish tied in fourth place with Derek Holes of UW-Stout (75-69-76--220).

First Round Results of Third Annual Bobby Krig Invitational

The Gustavus men's golf team is hosting the third annual Bobby Krig Invitational on Monday, April 21 and Tuesday, April 22. Saint John's is in first place after the first day with a team score of 286-295--581. Gustavus trails the Johnnies by nine strokes for second place with a score of 292-298--590. Today's first round was played at Le Sueur Country Club and tomorrow's final round will be played at the Ridges at Sand Creek near Jordan, Minn.
