The Gustavus baseball team concluded play at the Tucson Invitational on Friday with a doubleheader sweep over Wabash. The Gusties took game one 5-2 before a 10-7 win in game two, improving to 5-3 overall.

Baseball Walks Off a Winner Over Carthage

Brice Panning (Jr., Hamburg, Minn.) played the role of hero Thursday, driving in the game-winning run in walk-off fashion Thursday for the Gustavus baseball team in a 3-2 win over Carthage. The Gusties are now 3-3 overall with one day remaining in their trip to Tucson.

Baseball Loses 6-4 to Wabash in Tucson

The Gustavus baseball team Wednesday night dropped a 6-4 decision to Wabash at the Tucson Invitational, moving to 2-3 overall. The Gusties were able to erase a three-run deficit to tie the game in the fifth, but Wabash answered with three more runs to secure the win.

Baseball Loses Contest to Aurora Tuesday Night 7-2

After a day off on its spring break trip, the Gustavus baseball team fell to Aurora University on Tuesday night 7-2. With the loss the Gusties fall to 2-2 on the year. 

Baseball Splits Doubleheader with Jamestown

On day two of the Tucson Invitational the Gustavus baseball team split a doubleheader with Jamestown (N.D.), claiming a comeback 11-10 win in game one followed by a 2-1 pitchers' duel loss in game two.

Baseball Busts Out The Bats in Season Opening Victory

The Gustavus baseball team started its season Saturday with a decisive 18-3 win over Caltech at the Tucson Invitational. The Gusties collected 16 hits and didn’t commit an error on defense.

2019 Baseball Season Preview

Panning Makes Noise on the Gridiron and Diamond Over Labor Day Weekend

In the academic realm, Labor Day weekend marks the unofficial end of summer and the start of school. This year, Labor Day weekend marked another type of transition, or overlap in this case, for one Gustavus student-athlete in particular. Gustavus football and baseball player Brice Panning (Jr., Hamburg, Minn.) had an eventful weekend, leading the Gustie football team in receiving Saturday afternoon and then playing in the Minnesota state amateur baseball tournament that night and Sunday.

Baseball to host Instructional Camp Oct. 20

The Gustavus baseball coaching staff is holding an instructional camp on Saturday, October 20 at the Gustavus baseball field from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. In the event of inclement weather the camp will be moved indoors to the Lund Athletic Center.

61 Gusties Named 2017-18 MIAC Winter/Spring Academic All-Conference

Student-athletes in the Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (MIAC) continue to achieve in both athletics and in the classroom. For the third consecutive year, the MIAC has recognized more than 1,000 student-athletes with Academic All-Conference honors with 61 Gustavus student-athletes receiving the distinction.
