The Gustavus women’s tennis team defeated St. Thomas 5-0 in the MIAC Playoff Championship match late Saturday afternoon at the Swanson Tennis Center in St. Peter. The Gusties defeated St. Olaf 5-0 in a semifinal match on Saturday morning to get to the championship match. Gustavus is now 22-8 on the season.

Lisa Brown Finishes 7th In Javelin at Drake Relays, Shatters School Record
Gustavus junior Lisa Brown finished seventh in the javelin at the prestigious Drake Relays with a career best effort 156 feet, 5 inches. Brown, who was the only non-Division I competitor to finish in the top ten, broke her own school record of 154 feet, 6 inches, by nearly two feet.

Kaelene Lundstrum Finishes First at St. Ben’s/St. John’s Multi-Event Meet
Sophomore Kaelene Lundstrum turned in an outstanding performance in the heptathlon at the St. Ben’s /St. John’s Multi-Event meet on Sunday, April 20. Lundstrum finished first with a school record total of 4,349 points. Her total met the NCAA Provisional mark and is the fifth highest heptathlon total in Division III this year.
