Men’s Golf Wins St. John’s Invite
The Gustavus men’s golf team opened the 2004 season by winning the St. John’s University Invitational on Monday, September 20. The Gusties compiled a team score of 305-304–609 to finish ten strokes ahead of the competition.

Hamline University quarterback Andy Gagnon hit wide receiver Dan Ryks with a 5-yard touchdown pass in the corner of the end zone as time expired allowing Hamline to escape with a controversial 20-18 victory over Gustavus on Saturday afternoon.

The Gustavus volleyball team pushed its winning streak to eight matches with a perfect 3-0 mark at the Carleton Classic in Northfield. The Gusties beat UW-Oshkosh 3-2, Buena Vista 3-0 and Dubuque 3-0.

Batalden Named MIAC Volleyball Player of Week
Gustavus Adolphus College senior setter Rachel Batalden (Lamberton, Minn.) was named MiAC volleyball player of the week. Batalden helped the Gusties to a 5-0 record during the week including a perfect 4-0 mark at the Gustavus Classic last weekend.

Volleyball Defeats Bethel 3-0
The Gustavus volleyball team defeated Bethel University in St. Peter on Wednesday night for the first time since 1995. The Gusties improved to 8-3 for the season, while Bethel fell to 3-8.

Men’s Soccer Defeats Nebraska Wesleyan 4-0
The Gustavus men’s soccer team defeated Nebraska Weslayan 4-0 on Sunday afternoon in St. Peter, Minnesota. Bobby Kroog, Tore Johnston, Jeff Aasness and Neil Nelson were the goalscorers for Gustavus. The Gusties improved their unbeaten streak to 21 games.
