The Gustavus women’s gymnastics team scored a season high total of 174.10 in finishing third out of three at Hamline University in St. Paul on Friday night. The Gusties posted season high team event totals on the uneven bars (42.225), the balance beam (43.30), and the floor exercise (43.60).

The Gustavus women’s hockey team remained unbeaten in MIAC play with a 7-0 win at Augsburg on Friday night. Kelly Crandall tallied two goals and Molly Doyle added a goal and two assists to lead the Gusties. Kitty Hurley picked up her second shutout of the season and improved her record to 9-3-2 overall.

Sowden Named MIAC Men’s Basketball Co-Player of the Week

Gustavus junior forward Phil Sowden has been named MIAC Men’s Basketball Co-Player of the Week for the week ending Feb. 12, 2006. Sowden averaged 20.3 points and 9.3 rebounds per game as Gustavus won three games last week and clinched a MIAC playoff berth. Sowden shares this week’s award with St. Thomas guard Brian Schnettler.
