Men’s Golf Takes Fourth at Bobby Krig Invite

The Gustavus men’s golf team had three teams competing at the Bobby Krig Invite over the weekend, with the Gustavus A team dropping two spots in round two to finish fourth at 297-308-605 (+41). The Gusties B team moved up one for seventh (309-307-616), and the third and final team held at 15th with a mark of 321-329-650. UW-Eau Claire placed first at 296-297-593 (+29).

Gustie Impress at Lee Krough Invitational

The Gustavus track & field teams hosted the annual Lee Krough Invitational Sunday, and picked up a handful of impressive performances across the board. 12 different Gustie performances earned a spot in the top-five conference list, while Madi Kes made a dent in the national standings. Gustavus picked up wins in 15 running events and nine field events. 

Men’s Tennis Locks Up 34th Consecutive MIAC Championship

The Gustavus men's tennis team won its 34th consecutive MIAC Regular Season Championship Saturday, clinching the title with wins over Concordia and Carleton. The Gusties went a perfect 9-0 against the Cobbers in Fargo, while another squad dealt Carleton their first MIAC setback of the year with a 7-2 victory. 

Men’s Golf Tied for Second After Day One of Bobby Krig Invite

The Gustavus men's golf team sits tied for second after one round at the Bobby Krig Invite. With three teams in play, Gustavus A sits tied for second with Saint John's, with both teams just one stroke off leader UW-Eau Claire at 297 (+13). The Gusties B team posted a 309 (+25) for eighth, while the third Gustie team sits in 15th after carding a 321 (+37). 

Otto, Anderson Shutout Pipers, Lead Gusties to Sixth Straight Win

The Gusties silenced the Pipers Saturday afternoon, allowing only nine hits off Piper Otto and Maizie Anderson in two games. With wins of 4-0 and 9-0, the Gusties extended their win streak to six, posting their third MIAC sweep in a row.

Softball Posts Second Straight MIAC Sweep

The Gustavus softball team won its third- and fourth-straight games, sweeping Concordia by scores of 6-0 and 7-2 on a rainy day in the MSU-Mankato dome. Gustie pitchers Marah Hulke (Fy., Courtland) and Maizie Anderson (Fy., Rosemount) led the way, both pitching complete games and combining for only three hits against.

Poe Named MIAC Women’s Outdoor Field Athlete of the Week

Annika Poe (Sr., Big Lake) won the shot put at the Bethel Invitational over the weekend with a throw of 13.65 meters (44' 9.5"), a whole two meters better than the rest of the field. Poe's mark is the best in the conference this season and currently ranks 12th in NCAA Division III. For her performance, Poe was named MIAC Women’s Outdoor Field Athlete of the Week.

Gusties Go 2-0 Against UW-Whitewater, Bethel

The Gusties competed in two matches Saturday, sending a squad to No. 38 UW-Whitewater while another group faced Bethel for a MIAC contest back home. The Gusties went 2-0 in both matches, defeating UW-Whitewater 5-3 and Bethel 9-0.

Gusties Complete MIAC Sweep of Macalester

It's safe to say Friday's doubleheader against Macalester was a whirlwind for the Gusties. Game one started in a heavy heat, sunny and 81 at the Gustie Softball Field. The Scots took an early lead, but the Gusties battled back and tagged the game-tying run out at home to win the game in the top of the seventh, 7-6.

Gusties Suffer MIAC Sweep Against St. Olaf

The Gustavus softball team suffered a MIAC sweep at the hands of St. Olaf Thursday, falling 8-0 in five innings in game one of the doubleheader and 5-4 in the second. The Gusties fall to 8-14 and 1-5 in MIAC play.
