Men’s Swimming & Diving MIAC Championships Wrap-Up

The Gustavus men's swimming and diving team compiled 701 points to finish in second place at the 2010 MIAC Swimming and Diving Championships. St. Thomas won the MIAC Title with 709 points. The Gustavus men’s squad had a total of 16 All-Conference performances from eight different swimmers.

Men’s Hockey Set To Compete In MIAC Playoffs

The 2009-10 MIAC Regular Season Champion Gustavus Adolphus men's hockey team is set to complete in the MIAC Playoffs beginning this weekend. The Gusties finished the season with an overall record of 18-5-2 and a MIAC record of 12-2-2 (26 pts). Gustavus will host the winner of Friday night's first round game between St. Olaf and Augsburg on Saturday, Feb. 27, in Don Roberts Arena at 7:05 pm.

Women’s Basketball Ready To Begin MIAC Playoffs

The Gustavus Adolphus women’s basketball team finished the 2009-10 regular season with a share of the MIAC Crown, and now is set to compete in the MIAC Playoffs beginning with quarterfinals on Monday night. The Gusties, who finished the season 20-5 overall and 18-4 in the MIAC, are the number two seed entering the post season, giving them an opening round bye. Gustavus will host #5 St. Thomas at Gus Young Court Wednesday, Feb. 24th at 7:30pm in a MIAC Playoff Semifinal game.

The Gustavus men's basketball team is set to compete in the MIAC Playoffs, which begin with quarterfinal games on Tuesday night. The Gusties, who are the #2 seed in the six-team playoff, have an opening round bye. Gustavus finished the season 15-10 overall and 13-7 in the MIAC.

Women’s Indoor Track & Field Takes First At CSB Quad

The Gustavus women’s indoor track and field team compiled 166.5 points to take first place at the College of Saint Benedict Quadrangular held Saturday afternoon in Collegeville, Minn. Kaelene Lundstrum was the top Gustavus performer at the meet, winning the 55-meter hurdles (8.98) and high jump (5’ 3”), while taking fifth in the shot put (38’ 9.75”).

Women’s Nordic Skiing Wraps Up Season With Sixth Place Finish At NCAA Central Region Championships

The Gustavus women’s nordic team wrapped up the 2009-10 regular season with a sixth place finish (89 points) at the NCAA Central Region Championships held at Michigan Tech’s trails in Houghton, Michigan. The Gusties scored 44 points in the 5 km classic on Saturday, and 45 points in the 10 km freestyle on Sunday. Erica Hett was the top Gustavus skier of the weekend, posting a 10th place finish in the classic (17:57.0) and making the 5km Classic All-Region Team.

Brabbit Receives All-Region Honors, Men’s Nordic Skiing Finishes Fifth At NCAA Central Region Championships

The Gustavus men’s nordic ski team finished the 2009-10 regular season by scoring a combined 110 points to finish in fifth place at the NCAA Central Region Championships held at Michigan Tech’s trails in Houghton, Michigan. The Gusties registered 54 points in the 10 km classic on Saturday, Feb. 20, and 56 points in the 15 km freestyle on Sunday, Feb. 21.

Women’s Tennis Defeats Rockhurst 7-2, Falls To Drake 7-0

The Gustavus women’s tennis team defeated Rockhurst University 7-2, yet fell to Drake University 7-0 on Sunday afternoon in Des Moines, Iowa. Against Rockhurst, the Gusties won five of the six singles matches, and two of the three matches in doubles. Megan Gaard and Marianne Barau had the lone Gustavus victory of the match, defeating Drake’s Jessica Labarte and Ali Patterson 8-3 in doubles. The Gusties will compete at the ITA National Indoor Championship next weekend, Feb. 26-28, in Green Castle, Ind.

Men’s Swimming & Diving Finishes Second At MIAC Championships

St. Thomas compiled 709 points to claim the 2010 MIAC Swimming and Diving Championship on Saturday night in the Aquatics Center on the campus of the University of Minnesota in Minneapolis. The Tommies held off Gustavus, who finished in second place for the second consecutive year, tallying 701 points over the past three days. St. Olaf rounded out the top three by taking third with 615.5 points.

Women’s Swimming & Diving Wins 2010 MIAC Championship

The Gustavus women’s swimming and diving team compiled 744 points to claim the 2010 MIAC Swimming and Diving Championship on Saturday evening in the Aquatics Center on the Campus of the University of Minnesota in Minneapolis. Gustavus led after the first two days of competition, totaling 472 points entering Saturday’s races. The Gusties scored 272 points on Saturday to take the MIAC crown.
