Gustavus Adolphus sophomore Lisa Klass, senior Betsie Collins, and junior Emily Wendorff were named to the 2010 National Fastpitch Coaches Association (NFCA)/ Louisville Slugger All-Midwest Region Team. Klass received second-team honors, while Collins and Wendorff were named to the third team.

Softball Has Strong Showing In MIAC Post-Season Awards

The Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (MIAC) announced its 2010 MIAC Softball Awards on Tuesday, May 18, bestowing four Gustavus softball players with All-Conference honors. Senior pitcher Betsie Collins, sophomore infielder Lisa Klass, Junior infielder Kirsten Prunty, and junior outfielder Emily Wendorff were all named to the 2010 MIAC All-Conference team.

Men’s Outdoor Track And Field Takes Seventh At MIAC Championships

The Gustavus men’s outdoor track and field team took seventh place at the 2010 MIAC Outdoor Track and Field Championships held Friday and Saturday, May 14-15 in Winona, Minn. The Gusties finished with a two-day point total of 64 points, scoring 44 points in day two of competition. St. Thomas was crowned MIAC Champion after compiling 178.5 points. Hamline finished second with 155 points, and Bethel took third with 109 points.

Women’s Outdoor Track And Field Finishes Runner-Up At MIAC Championships

The Gustavus women’s outdoor track and field team finished runner-up for the sixth consecutive season at the MIAC Outdoor Track and Field Championships held Friday and Saturday, May 14-15 in Winona, Minn. The Gusties scored a total of 68.5 points on Saturday for a two-day total of 132 points to finish behind champion St. Thomas, who scored 115 points on Saturday for a total of 168 points. Saint Benedict barely edged out Concordia (88 points) to take third place with 89 points.

The Gustavus women’s team earned a berth into the NCAA Team Finals with a 5-0 victory over UW-Whitewater in the NCAA Midwest Region Final on Saturday afternoon in St. Peter, Minn.

The Gusties scored a total of 63.5 points on the day, as St. Thomas scored 53 points and currently sits in second place. St. Benedict rounds out the top three in third with 33 points.
