Breanne Staples Named MIAC Golfer of the Week

Gustavus sophomore Breanne Staples (Windom, Minn.) tied for first place at the Saint Benedict Invitational at the Greystone Golf Club this past weekend. Staples won the event with a score of 85-79–164 and was named MIAC Women’s Golfer of the Week.

Gustavus Adolphus College sophomore Breanne Staples (Windom, Minn.) tied for first place at the Saint Benedict Invitational on Sunday, October 3 at the Greystone Golf Club in Sauk Centre, Minn. Staples was named the Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference Women’s Golfer of the Week for her performance. The sophomore shot rounds of 85 and 79 for a 164 total, winning the event on a scorecard playoff. Her final-round 79 helped the Gusties rally with a 341 team score, the lowest 18-hole team score in the event, and finish in a tie for second, only five shots back of first place.
