Men’s Hockey Shut Out 2-0 at Saint Mary’s

The Gustavus men’s hockey team suffered a 2-0 setback Friday at Saint Mary’s, dropping to 6-13-1 overall and 3-7-1 in the MIAC.

WINONA, Minn. – The Gustavus men’s hockey team suffered a 2-0 setback Friday at Saint Mary’s, dropping to 6-13-1 overall and 3-7-1 in the MIAC.

After a scoreless first period, the Cardinals scored what proved to be the game-winner 2:38 into the second on a power play. The home team then took advantage of an empty net with 1:08 left in the game.

Saint Mary’s outshot Gustavus 32-28. The Gusties went 0-5 on the power play while the Cardinals were 1-3 on the man advantage.

Chris Amsden (Sr., Saint Peter, Minn.) took the loss in goal after making 30 saves in nearly 59 minutes of action.

The two teams wrap up the series at 7:05 p.m. tomorrow at Don Roberts Ice Rink.
