ST. PAUL, Minn. – The Gustavus men’s and women’s track & field teams competed in their first outdoor meet in Minnesota Saturday, participating in the Hamline Invitational. The meet featured 21 institutions from NCAA Division II and III with some events having nearly 100 competitors.
Gustavus was highlighted on the women’s side by a second place finish (out of 49) in the 100-meter by Kayla Stowell (So., Le Sueur, Minn.), crossing the finish line in 12.51. The men’s team was led by Michael Hensch (So., North Branch, Minn.) as he took third in the javelin with a toss of 170-10, and 12th in both the shot put (47-6.25) and discus (134-6).
