SAINT PETER, Minn. – The Gustavus Adolphus College men’s and women’s golf teams are set to compete in their final meets of the 2015-16 regular season this weekend, as the men compete in a dual with the University of St. Thomas on Sunday, while the women will play in the Carleton Invite on Saturday and Sunday. The men’s dual with the Tommies is set to begin at noon at Ridges at Sand Creek in Jordan, Minn., while the women will play at Bellwood Oaks Golf Course in Hastings, Minn.
The Gustie men are looking to make one more positive impression on the NCAA Selection Committee for an at-large bid to the NCAA National Championships that will be announced Monday. Gustavus has won its past three meets, including the Saint John’s University Invite this past weekend. There, senior Andrew Krasaway led the Gusties to a three-round total of 859 after his record-tying first round performance where he shot a seven-under 65.
The women’s team will also look to finish strong, after finishing in the top-three in each of their meets this spring. The Gusties are most recently coming off a third place finish at the Bethel Invite that was shortened by lightening this past weekend. There, Gustavus finished with a 317, just two strokes behind second place Bethel University.
