BECKER, Minn. – The Gustavus Adolphus College men’s and women’s golf teams were able to maintain their respective leads from Day One, and each took home first place at the Augsburg Invite this past weekend. The men, who played at Pebble Creek Golf Course, scored a combined 594 (+18), while the women, who played at Les Bolstad Golf Course scored a total of 695 (+127). Senior Andrew Brandt (Medina, Minn.) highlighted the men’s team finish with an individual championship after scoring a 69 in Sunday’s final round.
“Both teams played great rounds of golf today,” said Coach Scott Moe. “It was also cool to see AB get his first individual championship and Alec [Aunan] had a great round as well for a two-day total of one over par on the men’s side. McKenzie was very consistent for our women and Ellie was right behind her after a great second round. These results certainly give us a lot of confidence heading into our home tournament next weekend.”
