EAU CLAIRE, Wis. – The Gustavus Adolphus men’s golf team maintained its placing from day one at the Frank Wrigglesworth Invite, finishing in seventh place out of 18 teams. In their final round, which was played at the Eau Claire Country Club, the Gusties shot a 305, a six shot improvement from their first round score.

“We had a few individuals play well and it was nice to see our team score drop from yesterday,” said Coach Scott Moe. “However, we really need our depth to come through for us in order to stay competitive in tough fields like this.”

The Gusties were led by first-year Max Savini (Anoka, Minn.) on the tournament’s second day, as he shot a three-over 74 to total 149 and finish tied for seventh in the individual standings. Chris Captain (So., Rochester, Minn.) was next with a 151 (+8) to finish tied for 14th. Andrew Krasaway (Sr., Hermantown, Minn.) followed, as he rose 16 places to finish with a 154, good for a tie for 23rd place. Sam Peterson (Sr., Benson, Minn.) and Alec Aunan (So., Rock Island, Ill.) rounded out the Gustie lineup with a score of 163, tying them for 73rd place overall.

Matt Rastetter (So., Maple River, Minn.), who was entered in the tournament as an individual, finished with a score of 151, tying him for 14th place.

“We now need to regroup and prepare for our next tournament at Saint John’s,” said Moe.

The Gusties will travel to Sartell, Minnesota on Saturday to compete in the Saint John’s Invitational, which will be held at Blackberry Ridge Golf Course. The tournament will run through Sunday.
