Men’s Golf Moves Up To No. 6 In Golf World/Nike Golf Division III College Coaches’ Poll

New York – The Gustavus Adolphus men’s golf team moved up one spot in the latest Golf World/Nike Golf Division III College Coaches’ Poll.  Ranking No. 7 in the initial poll of the spring release on Thursday, Feb. 28, the Gusties are now ranked No. 6 among NCAA Division III institutions. The poll is the result of a collaboration of resources between Golf World magazine, Nike Golf, and the Golf Coaches Association of America (GCAA).

The complete results, including results from Divisions I, II, NAIA and NJCAA will appear in the April 1, 2013 issue of Golf World and are live now: http://golfdig.st/fnmTj6.

By a single point, Oglethorpe maintained its place atop the Golf World/Nike Golf Division III men’s coaches’ poll, a spot it has occupied the entire 2012-13 season.  Gustavus, for the first time this season, received one first place vote.  Fellow MIAC members Saint John’s (No. 4) and St. Thomas (No. 8) also earned a top 10 ranking in the most recent DIII men’s poll.

The Golden Gusties will be in action over Spring Break with dual against Flagler College on Friday, April 6 at Ponte Vedra Country Club in Ponte Vedra Beach, Florida.
