St. Peter, Minn. – The Gustavus Adolphus men’s tennis team is ranked No. 21 according to the most recent poll released by the Intercollegiate Tennis Association on Feb. 28. The Division III top 30 poll released by the ITA on Thursday is the first of the spring season. Gustavus moved up four spots from its No. 25 ranking in the ITA Preseason Poll released on Nov. 1, 2012.
Following a sixth place finish at the 2013 ITA Indoor Championship held this past weekend at the Swanson Tennis Center, Gustavus heads back into regional competition with a pair of matches on Saturday, March 2 in St. Peter. The Gusties will host Grinnell College at 9:30 a.m. and Macalester College at 6:00 p.m. Head Coach Tommy Valentini’s squad is currently 5-5 overall and 1-0 in the MIAC heading into the weekend.
