Women’s Golf In Second Place Following Opening Round Of Gustavus Fall Invite

Le Sueur, Minn. – The Gustavus women’s golf team is currently in second place following the opening round of the Gustavus Fall Invitational being held over the weekend at the Le Sueur Country Club and North Links Golf Course.  Gustavus shot a 331 (+39) on day one to trail Minnesota State Unviersity, Mankato which fired a 318 (+26).  St. Thomas rounds out the top three in third place with a 332 (+40).

Leading the Gusties on day one was Kayleigh Dittes (Sr., Eden Prairie, Minn.) who shot an 80 (+7) to put her in fifth place overall.  Liz Strom (So., Fargo, N.D.) shot an 82 (+9) and sits in sixth place, while Olivia Tusa (Fy., Hermantown, Minn.) is in 10th with after recording an 84 (+11).

Minnesota State’s Alyssa Kalthoff and Kanya Sethasompobe share the lead after they both shot 77s (+4) on the first day.  Their teammate Tabitha Kunst and St. Thomas’ Doyle O’Brien sit in a tie for third after shooting a 79 (+6).

The Gustavus Fall Invitational will conclude tomorrow at North Links Golf Course.  Play will resume at 8:00 a.m.
