Men’s and Women’s Indoor Track and Field Teams Post 10 First Place Finishes at Carleton’s Pre-MIAC Meet

The Gustavus men’s and women’s indoor track and field teams set the pace at the Carleton Pre-MIAC meet with 10 first place finishes. Kaelene Lundstrum turned in the top performance of the night as she won the women’s high jump with a leap of 5′ 6″ which set a new school record and a Carleton Fieldhouse record. Lundstrum’s mark is the fourth best in Division III this season. No team scores were kept at the meet.

The Gustavus women recorded six first place finishes including Laura Secor in the 600 meter dash (1:40.62), Shanna Dawson in the pole vault (11″ 3 3/4, meets NCAA provisional qualifying mark),
Kaelene Lundstrum in the high jump (5′ 6″), Anna Bauer in the weight throw (48′ 5 1/4”), Lisa Brown in the shot put (39′ 9 3/4”), and the 4×400 meter relay team of Chelsea Craven, Janey Helland, Elizabeth Pringle, and Kaelene Lundstrum (4:09.35

The Gustavus men recorded four first place finishes including Drew Hood in the pole vault (13′ 11 1/4”), Brian Anderson in the shot put (45′ 9 1/4”), Chris deLaubenfels in the 3,00 meters (8:37.41), and the
4×400 meter relay team of Matt Leeb, Tyler Geyen, Ben Treichel, and Cole Carlson (3:26.70).

The Gustavus men’s and women’s indoor track and field teams will take part in the MIAC Championships next weekend at Saint John’s University in Collegeville, Minn. The meet begins with the multi-event competition on Thursday and continues through Saturday.
