The Gustavus Adolphus College women’s golf team is in fourth place after the second day of the NCAA Division III Championships which are being held at Mission Inn Golf Resort in Howie-in-the-Hills, Florida (near Orlando). The Gusties were once again led by the fine play of sophomore Kimbra Kosak (So., Grand Rapids, Minn.), who fired a four-over par round of 77. Kosak is now alone in second place with a 36-hole total of 76-77–153. She trails Katie Dick of Methodist University (76-73-149) by four strokes. Senior Breanne Staples (Windom, Minn.) also turned in a solid round with a six-over par 79. Gustavus,which has a 36-hole team total of 332-334–666, trails first place Methodist (303-309–612) by 54 strokes. The Gusties trail second place Southwestern of Texas (659) by seven strokes and third place DePauw of Indiana (663) by three strokes. Gustavus will tee off around noon (CDT) on Thursday in the third round of the tournament. The NCAA Championships will conclude on Friday.
