Men’s Tennis Falls To #1 Middlebury 8-1

The Gustavus men’s tennis team opened its Spring Break Trip to California with an 8-1 loss to top-ranked Middlebury 8-1 in Los Angeles. The Gusties victory came at #5 singles where Marcel Gyswyt defeated James Burke 6-4, 7-6 (5).

The Gustavus men’s tennis team opened its Spring Break Trip to California with an 8-1 loss to top-ranked Middlebury 8-1 in Los Angeles.  The Gusties victory came at #5 singles where Marcel Gyswyt defeated James Burke 6-4, 7-6 (5).  Gyswyt is now 7-2 this spring at the #5 position.  The Panthers swept the other five singles matches in straight sets, while also claiming all three doubles matches.  Gustavus, which is now 11-5 on the season and ranked #27 nationally, will face #17 Redlands University in Redlands, California on Wednesday, March 30 at 1 pm (CDT).
