Men’s Cross Country Places Seventh at St. Olaf Invite

Anders Bowman posted a season best 8,000 meter time of 26:42 and finished ninth individually to help the Gustavus men’s cross country team finish seventh out of 13 teams at the St. Olaf Invitational on Saturday.

Anders Bowman posted a season best 8,000 meter time of 26:42 and finished ninth individually to help the Gustavus men’s cross country team finish seventh out of 13 teams at the St. Olaf Invitational on Saturday.  The Gusties tallied 180 points, while the University of Minnesota-Duluth finished first with a total of 52 points.

Others scoring for Gustavus included Mark Bartley (32nd – 27:19), Adam Lund (40th – 27:31), Nick Ross (48th – 27:45), and Jeremy Kuhn (51st – 27:52).  The sixth and seventh finishers for the Gusties were Kurt Prieve (54th – 27:58) and Chad Klaybaugh (65th – 28:28).

Coach Dale Bahr felt good about the effort at St. Olaf.  He stated, “The guys ran hard.  Anders ran well in good conditions and placed in the top ten of a solid field.” He added, “We will compete in yet another highly competitive meet next weekend at the University of Minnesota and I know this group is excited to run against many of the top runners in the Upper Midwest.”
