Carlson, Hanson, Leeb, And Citrowske Set To Compete At NCAA Championships

The Gustavus Adolphus men’s 4×400-meter relay team and Max Hanson have qualified and will compete in the 2010 NCAA Outdoor Track and Field Championships held at Tressel Field in Berea, Ohio on May 27-29.

The Gustavus Adolphus men’s 4×400-meter relay team and Max Hanson have qualified and will compete in the 2010 NCAA Outdoor Track and Field Championships held at Tressel Field in Berea, Ohio on May 27-29.   The 4×400-meter relay team consists of seniors Cole Carlson (Mora, Minn.) and Max Hanson (Montrose, Minn.), and juniors Matt Leeb (Kasota, Minn.) and Colby Citrowske (Canby, Minn.).  Hanson has individually qualified and will compete in the 800-meter run.

The 4×400 relay team enters the NCAA Championships with the second fastest time in the nation at 3:12.88.  They will attempt to top the team from Wheaton College, who enters with the fastest time at 3:11.18.  The Gustavus 4×400-meter relay took fourth place with a time of 3:16.76 at the MIAC Championships, despite dropping the baton in the race.

Max Hanson enters the competition with the second fastest time in the 800-meter run.  Hanson’s time of 1:50.31 ranks him behind Whitworth University’s Emmanuel Bofa, who has a qualifying time of 1:48.69.  Hanson won the 800-meter run at the MIAC Championships with a time of 1:52.07.

The 4×400 relay team will run in the trials on Thursday, May 27, at 7:25pm.  The finals for the 4×400 relay will take place on Saturday, May 29, at 4:55pm.

Hanson will run in the 800-meter run trials on Friday, May 28, at 5:25pm.  The final for the 800-meter run will take place on Saturday, May 29, at 3:00pm.
