Gustavus Adolphus track and field athlete Colin Rust is currently in eighth place with 2572 points after day one of competition at the MIAC Decathlon hosted by Carleton Thursday afternoon in Northfield, Minn. Ryan Ness is also representing the Gustavus men’s outdoor track and field team at the meet, as he is currently in 11th place with 2356 points.
Rust finished fifth in the 100-meter dash (12.07), sixth in the 400-meter dash (56.92), seventh in the long jump (18’ 10.50”), ninth in the shot put (31’ 9.50”), and 11th in the high jump (5’ 0.25”). Ness was fifth in the high jump (5’ 5”), seventh in both the 100-meter dash (12.66) and 400-meter dash (58.81), ninth in the long jump (17’ 7”), and 12th in the shot put (29’ 1”).
The MIAC Pentathlon will continue, weather permitting, tomorrow in Northfield, Minn.
