Men’s Golf Finishes Sixth At Saint John’s Invitational

The Gustavus men’s golf team finished sixth out of 16 teams at the Saint John’s Invitational with a 54-hole total of 306-296-297–899. Saul Menendez led the Gusties individually as he placed 17th with a total of 73-76-74–223 (+10).

The Gustavus men’s golf team finished sixth out of 16 teams at the Saint John’s Invitational with a 54-hole total of 306-296-297–899.  Saul Menendez led the Gusties individually as he placed 17th with a total of 73-76-74–223 (+10).  The host Johnnies won the tournament, which was played at St. Cloud Country Club (18 holes) and Monticello Country Club (36 holes), with a total of 284-287-283–854.

The Gustavus Gold team consisted of Menendez, A.J Olson (80-75-74-229, 30th tie), Alex Kolquist (76-69-85–230, 36th tie), Josh Curb (82-76-73–231, 40th tie), and Trevor Gervais (77-79-76–232, 43rd).

The Gustavus Black team finished 12th with a total of 321-311-314–946.  Members of the Black team were Ricky Copeland (78-77-81–236, 51st tie), Coby Rowley (83-79-74–236, 51st tie), Alex Pederson (78-83-81–242, 68th tie), Alex Woodhull (88-76-78–242, 68th tie), and Derrick Davis (82-79-87–248, 80th).

The Gusties will wrap up their Spring season next Saturday and Sunday at the St. Olaf Invitational.
